Chapter 17 Later that same day, Elenda couldn't stop staring at the view from her new apartment. Even in a building she'd lived in or come home to throughout her life, she'd never suspected a vista so custom-made for her own eyes, mind, and heart. The trees, grass, water, and stone of Central Park didn't take up the whole horizon, but the stretch she could see was enough to settle her wanderlust for the moment. Even with a crowd swirling behind her on the huge patio space, when Elenda leaned her elbows against the gray stone pillar and focused on the park, she could pretend no one else was anywhere around her.
