Chapter 12 A couple of hours and a couple of pain pills later, Elenda waited in the small family dining room for her father to get home. Her mother had banished her from the kitchen, a place she was uncomfortable in under the best of circumstances. The crutches and her slow and awkward movement were too much for either of them to handle. Her phone vibrated in her pocket, and for some reason a chill raced through her.
