Deborah's POV:
"Is that what your penny got?" Amara teased as she stood in front of me and my food laughing with her company with her statement. I don't have the appetite to eat a lot today that is why I only got sandwich.
I just rolled my eyes and continued walking out of the cafeteria.
"Don't mind them, they are just a piece of trash." he said while smiling walking beside me. I stopped at his existence, he is Theo our professor that I have been thinking if he is also the one I met earlier.
I didn't spoke back and just continued walking till I reach the bench under the shade of tree in our park. Eating my sandwich alone would be great however, he is here sitting beside me. "Not being rude but why are you here? Don't you have a lunch table at your office?" I coughed at his existence.
He shrugged his shoulder and pointed out something in the bench, a mark, snake wrapped around a dragon's body with a lion. What does it mean? As I looked back at him my eyes grew wider as he was already showing his forearm with the same mark on the bench. "This is actually our spot." he muttered grinning at me.
I stood up in embarrassment but he just pulled me back and gave me a bottle of water. "It's clean, I bought it for the two of us." he said as he open it and hand it to me.
I just sit quietly while eating my sandwich as he devour his packed meal. "Hi, is he annoying you?" Someone asked from the distant acting all big and was about to throw a punch at Professor Theo yet it was immediately stopped as he was capped by another guy behind him. They were chuckling on their way to him.
"Shut your filthy mouth, Asul." He said pointing out to the guy speaking earlier. "What you idiots need here?" he continued.
They were talking casually when someone caught my attention. HE IS THAT GUY. Theo is not the same as him, he has a huge scar on his neck. I immediately stood up as he look back at me, it sends shivers on my body. I have to go.
"Where are you going? I was about to introduce them to you, Deborah." Professor Theo said as he remains calm pointing out to them, I scanned them again as they casually talks to him as if they are not his professors and they are not his students.
Next time." I bluffed as I walk my way out of their group. I just noticed that some of the students were looking at me as if I am a different person.
I was scared for awhile as they were like a into trouble group of guys. Specially the one that has a scar on the neck that I saw as I reach the university.
"What's the rush, Deb?" I looked up as I see the familiar voice I've heard as I bumped into him. My eyes watered as he grabbed me behind the building where no one seems to be goofing around. He hugged me tight as I clench my hands on his hoodie.
"What brings you here, Dim? Does dad and mom knows about this?" he shook his head and gently said no. I heave a deep sigh and hold his hand tightly. "This is not a safe place, lets go back to my place as father might have an eye here. I have something to tell you." I said as I walk first then he followed quietly to ensure that no one will notice us.
As we reach my place, I immediately hand him over some water and I also gulped down some of it. "Do you happen to know someone in that university? Particularly a guy with a scar on his neck?" I asked as he sneak a peek on the window to check if someone followed us.
"Cash, Theo's brother. The one that you were with." he said looking at me intently, "They didn't introduce themselves, aren't they?" he continued and I just nodded while I listen to him, seems like he knows about them a lot. Also, he muttered that he is Professor Theo's brother, reason why they are looked alike.
For now, you have to make sure that you won't be out of their eyesight, they are the only one I can trust to despite of our previous conflict. They are strong enough to protect you and I can deal with them later once we settled everything. Please do not be reckless, Deb."
"What is happening, Dmitri. Enlighten me, I want to be with you that staying in this crappy place." I muttered while letting out heavy breathings within me.
He cupped my face and rubs my head, "Please Deb, at least once, trust me on this and behave yourself. I don't want to hear a word again and I just dropped by to make sure that you are in a safe place while I am away." he stood up when the doorbell of my place ding which makes me also stood up as I got nervous since we might be followed. He open the door and there is Cash along with his group on their buttoned down uniform waiting outside. He let them in and immediately closed the door.
"For now, they will be staying nearby and looking after you. No one will ever touch you as I will make sure to cut each one of their fingers and beat them to death." he said with authority as he leaned closer to me and, plant a kiss on my forehead before he grabbed his hoodie and went out with them. Cash was left inside the room and the air felt heavy.
"Nice to meet you again, Debby." he mumbled out as he walks closer to me, grinning. Debby, someone called me and yet I can't remember. Little me flashes on my mind as I grope tightly on the chair beside me. I looked back at him acting dizzy when he was already in the kitchen rummaging at my refrigerator. "They might take awhile and bet your brother has already left, let me have something to eat." I just nodded and immediately made my way to the window as I tried to search for them, yet there is no any sign.
