I relax in his hold. A face I know, but I don't know how. I managed to pull my gaze from his face. The woman seems to be gone from my room, and it is just the man now. He puts an arm under my back to support me and cups my face. It looks like he is speaking to me, but I can’t hear him over the ringing. I feel myself slipping into sleep again. When I wake again, there is moonlight streaming in through the window casting a soft white glow across the room. I fight to sit up and manage to prop myself up on my good arm with my pillows so I can get a better idea of where I am. My hurt arm is in a sling and when I wiggle my fingers there are no pins and needles. My fingers are warm, and I can feel my other hand holding them. I breathe a sigh of relief.
