~ Chapter 7 ~

I could hear Kace on my way down the stairs, im assuming he was talking to Celeste, just by the stern look he gave me as he walked past the staircase and into the lounge room. I smiled awkwardly at him as I turned into the dinning room, breakfast laid out and ready to feast on. Blaise was sitting in his usual spot across the table, closest to the window. I sat down opposite him, meeting his gaze. He looked tired, dark circles under his eyes and a hollow look on his face.  I went to ask if he heard anything from the order but he leaned over the table and spoke first, “looks like your going out again tonight, you party animal” I laughed, “with the consequence of Kace tying chains to me the moment I get home” he sat back in his chair with a smirk on his face  “worth it though” with a wink. I held back another laugh as Kace strode back in the room and sat next to Blaise, his eyes burning into my soul, “I didn’t ask her-” I didn’t have the chance to finish my sentence as Kace held his hand up to stop me, “Just be home this time and cover your forehead somehow” was all he said, before our mum walked in holding a plate of fresh fruit, adding it to the table that was filled with all sorts of protein and goods.  I reached for the eggs and bacon in front of me, adding in some strawberries and pineapple on the side. My cup was already filled with a hot mocha that mum makes fresh everyday. My stomach growled and I took a bite of the eggs that filled me with warmth, hitting that spot of hunger. I placed a strawberry in my mouth and the taste ran through me with familiarity. My thought went straight to the man in my dream last night, how his touch made me feel, it seemed so real. Maybe I just hoped it was real. I could feel the lingering sensation of when our hips joined, smacking straight into that hardness in his pants, electricity rippling through my s*x. His lips, fitting perfectly between mine, warm and light, his tongue softly lacing against mine, moving along the roof of my mouth, teasing me. I wonder what else he could do with that tongue. Both Kace and Blaise started choking on there food. I looked at them in shock, realising they could smell what my mind lingered back to. This was entirely embarrassing, especially since my arousal was for someone who wasn’t even real. “Im going to have a shower” I said as I stood up from the table, but my mum stopped me, “You have hardly finished anything on your plate” her eyebrows furrowed as if she was disappointed. I couldn’t tell her why I needed to leave the room, it was awkward enough. I sat back down and looked over to see my brothers hammering down there food and sculling there drinks before getting up and running to the kitchen with there dirty plates, thank the gods they left. “What am I missing” my mum said as she placed a piece of jam toast in her mouth. I shrugged, “Maybe there late for work” I said awkwardly, she just nodded and continued eating her breakfast.  I heard Kace in the kitchen yelling, “Oh my gods, turn it off!” I wasn’t sure if he was talking about me still, but my stomach dropped into pure guilt. I was honestly going to be sick at this point. I tried thinking about what I would wear tonight, I had nothing suitable for the nightclub Dawns and I did not want to borrow from Celeste since she wears practically nothing. I shoved the rest of my breakfast in my mouth and jumped from the table, my mum grabbed my hand as I walked past her, smiling up at me, “You are stronger than you know my love” I squeezed her hand back, “Thanks mum” a lump in my throat formed and I could sense the same from her. We knew it was only a matter of days before I met my fate. “Have fun tonight” she said as she let go of my hand and softly grazed the two moons ontop my forehead, making her way across the vines that no longer glowed but had a small lingering amount of gold flowing through it. I nodded, kissing her cheek before heading into the kitchen, where my brothers were no where to be found. I placed my dishes in the sink, where my dad was standing there washing them. I went to help, but he shook his head, “Theres only a few left, ill do them” he smiled. I felt bad but I did want to get out to the shops to find a new outfit for tonight. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and ran back up stairs to get dressed, grab my keys and go.  ~ I wasn’t sure exactly what to wear. I haven’t been to Dawns since I turned 18 two years ago, from what I remember the place was very explicit, clothing bare minimum and a hallway filled with private rooms for those who desired more intimate acts. Ive never used the rooms, Celeste had, she found the hottest Fae or human she could and whisk herself away every time we went,  leaving me alone to fend off all the drunks. I usually shut them out and just dance along to the music. Once Celeste met Paxton, the rooms and single men were obviously no use to her. I secretly hoped they used the rooms though as they basically had s*x on the dance floor.  The music was the best part, the DJ was always playing something different every time and always remixing the classics. My favourite song was the remixed Rasputin, literally how can you say no to dancing to that. The DJ let you requests songs to which was a plus! If I could, id have requested Rasputin on the whole night. But it has been a while and I’m not sure if anything has changed or if its same old, same old.  I walked up to an old op shop window, a dark orange satin dress with gold entwined through it jumped at me. The short dress seemed to travel mid thigh from what it showed on the mannequin, with thin straps to hold it up and a low cut V just low enough to show a little bit of cleavage. The colour was different to anything else I’ve seen and it was an easily cheap option.  I walked inside the store and was greeted by a young women who looked human in the face but her Fae ears were pointing out of her pale blonde hair that was let down. Her eyes were large and a bright yellow. For a half-Fae she did have outstanding unique features, like her skin that is just flawless.  I smiled at her, “Do you mind if I try this dress on?” I asked her politely. She jumped up in excitement and ran to the dress, “Yes! Of course!” She was oddly excited about it, maybe she doesn’t make much sales in here. She walked to the dressing room, her long pale blonde hair swinging with every step. I thanked her and tried on the dress. It fit perfectly, shaping every inch of my curves, showing off my cleavage more than I expected and it made my olive skin glow in a way that I would no longer need to tan. I looked good for once.  I stepped out the change room and bumped into a older women with a hood over her, “Sorry!” I said, she looked up and gasped, her hand shooting for my eyes. I leaned back from her, I wasn’t sure why she needed to touch me. “Your eyes, my child, soul of the sea, treasured to the sky, new in this but old in the last”  What in the actual, this is the second weird thing someone has said to me in the last 24 hours, can everyone stop giving me riddles that I don’t understand?  I didn’t know what to say, but the half-Fae chimed in, “oh don’t worry about her, she is on some special medicine for her dementia” she shooed the older women away, who walked over and sat at the counter in a dark corner. She took the dress from my hands, “Happy to take this one?” She questioned, my eyes glided back to hers, that were now a silvery yellow, brighter than before. I nodded in response and pulled my purse out, “Don’t worry, it’s on the house!” She shouted at me, shooing away my wallet while she packaged the dress in a bag, “Oh no, I cant just take it” I countered back, placing a fifty dollar note on the counter, she huffed and took the money, giving me back forty-nine dollars change. Was she joking? She charged me a dollar for this stunningly unique dress that you probably cant get anywhere else. I looked up to see her smiling, handing the bag over to me, “thank you”I laughed and she just nodded back at me, still smiling.  I walked out of the shop and headed for my car across the road. Turning my car on and getting ready to drive off,  I looked back and found the old women and the half-Fae now standing at the shop window, starring straight at me, I smiled awkwardly and headed home.
