It had been a week since I arrived at the beach house, and every day felt like a slow, torturous passage of time. Here, surrounded by the endless width of the ocean and the rhythmic sounds of the waves, I had so much time to think, to strategize, and to rekindle the fire of revenge burning within me as I remembered my past with Dante.
I could see that if I allowed Dante to enter Lorenzo’s life, it would jeopardize my carefully laid plans.
