I watched as Lorenzo and the big man walked off towards a black car. Seeing the resemblance on their faces, I knew instantly that the big man was most likely Lorenzo’s father. What I didn’t understand, though, was why Gabbie had kept it a secret from me when I’d asked earlier. I knew Eva didn’t want me to know, seeing as Gabbie had lied to me, and I had to respect her decision. My mind wandered, how had she gotten involved with the soon-to-be mayor?
