Cathy's POV: I got ready for work, my mind still reeling from the vivid dream I'd had about Nathan. I couldn't believe how real it had felt, how much I'd wanted him. As I headed out the door, I stopped to pick up a coffee on my way to work. I was lost in thought, my mind still on Nathan, when I collided with a hard body. "Gosh, I'm so sorry!" I exclaimed, as I stumbled backward. Nathan's hands grasped my arms, holding me steady. "It's okay, I've got you," he rasped, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. For a moment, we just stood there, our bodies pressed together. I felt a spark of electricity run through me, and I knew I was in trouble. Nathan's POV: I entered the coffee shop, my eyes scanning the room until they landed on Cathy. She was standing in line, her eyes fixed on her phone. I couldn't help but smile as I made my way over to her. I deliberately bumped into her, wanting to see her reaction. As she stumbled backward, I grasped her arms, holding her steady. "It's okay, I've got you," I said, my eyes locked on hers. For a moment, we just stood there, our bodies pressed together. I felt a spark of electricity run through me, and I knew I was in trouble. "I'm so sorry about your coffee," I said, gesturing to the spilled liquid on her shirt. Cathy looked down, her eyes widening in dismay. "Ugh, my favorite shirt!" "Don't worry, I'll replace it," I said, smiling. "And I'll make it up to you. How about dinner tonight?" Cathy looked up at me, her eyes wide and uncertain. For a moment, I thought she was going to say no. But then, she nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Okay," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. I grinned, feeling a surge of excitement. "Great," I said. "I'll cook for you at my house." Cathy's eyes widened, but she nodded again. "Okay," she repeated. Cathy's pov: I rushed out of the office, eager to get home and unwind after a long day. As I walked down the hallway, Chad, one of my coworkers, stopped me. "Hey, Cathy, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his eyes hopeful. I nodded, wondering what he wanted. "Sure, what's up?" "I was just wondering if you'd like to go out sometime," he said, his voice nervous. "Maybe dinner or a movie?" I felt a pang of discomfort, unsure of how to let him down gently. "I'm flattered, but I don't think that's a good idea," I said, trying to sound kind but firm. But before I could elaborate, Chad's hands reached out to grab my arms, his fingers brushing against my skin. I felt a surge of unease and tried to pull away, but he held tight. That's when Nathan appeared out of nowhere, his eyes flashing with anger. He pulled me to his side, his hand wrapping around my waist. "I think the lady said no," Nathan said, his voice low and even. Chad looked taken aback, but he nodded and bid me goodbye before hurrying off. Nathan turned to me, his eyes searching mine. "Are you okay?" he asked. I nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. "Yeah, thanks for intervening," I said. Nathan smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Anytime," he said. He held out a gift bag, and I took it, feeling a sense of curiosity. "What's this?" I asked. Nathan just smiled and said, "Open it later. I'll take you home now." As we drove to my apartment, Nathan's hand remained on my knee fingers sending shivers down my spine. "I'll pick you up at 7," he said, his voice low and husky. "We'll have dinner at my place." I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement mixed with nerves. When we arrived at my apartment, Nathan walked me to the door and handed me the gift bag. "See you soon," he said, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. I nodded, feeling a sense of anticipation myself. As I watched Nathan walk away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. What did he have planned for tonight? I took a deep breath and opened the gift bag, my eyes widening in surprise at what I found inside. Nathan's POV: As I watched Cathy walk into her apartment, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I'd saved her from that creep Chad, and now I had a chance to spend the evening with her. I drove home, my mind racing with thoughts of Cathy. What was she like when she was relaxed? What made her laugh? I pulled into my driveway, feeling a sense of excitement. Tonight was going to be special. I got out of the car and walked into my house, my eyes scanning the room. Everything was perfect. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of anticipation. Tonight, I was going to make Cathy mine Just then, her phone rang, and she answered it, listening for a moment before bidding me goodbye and rushing out of the coffee shop. I watched her go, feeling a pang of disappointment. But I knew I'd see her again tonight.
