Seeing Abigail make a move, William's face instantly turned cold. He grabbed Abigail's hand, flung her aside, and stepped forward to shield Olivia behind him.
Only after he had done all this did he realize that Olivia didn't like him interfering in her affairs. But his body reacted before his brain did; by the time he realized it, his body had already made its choice.
William cautiously observed Olivia's expression, relieved that she wasn't angry this time. Abigail was almost thrown to the ground by William's forceful shove. She pointed at William's nose in anger and humiliation. "And you are... This is between me and Olivia, what business is it of yours?"
William fell silent. There was that question again. Who was he? What right did he have to interfere in Olivia's family matters?
