PRESENT DAY
I was too shocked to speak, I didn't know what to say to comfort him. His eyes were drowning in pain and sadness so I did the first thing that popped into my head.
Sometimes people don't need meaningless words. They just needed you there and so I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him closer, not saying a word but yet saying a lot.
Saying I'm here now and I won't leave him. Saying he can be vulnerable around me. Saying I won't judge him for his past. And most importantly, saying that I accept him, flaws and all and that I'll stand by him, no matter what.
As I held him close, I could feel the tension in his body begin to ease. His arms wrapped around me, holding me tight, and I knew that he needed this. He needed someone to hold him, to comfort him, to r
