“Wake up.” My eyes snapped open. Two very large, muscular men were standing next to the bed staring down at me. “Who, who are you?” I stammered, then glanced over to the nightstand to grab my phone, but it was missing. Outside the window it was dark, so it had to be early morning. My heart hammered in my chest, and in less than five seconds I’d gone from a dead sleep to a horrifying alertness. “Griffin, it’s okay, just go with the men. They’re taking you to…” Dad said from the doorway, but one of the men cut him off. “Go, leave him to us.” The man who spoke crossed the room and shut the door on Dad’s face, while the other man ripped the blankets off of me.
