Lyra POV I lay on the bed for what felt like hours, unable to sleep. My thoughts were consumed by Lucian, the fear of him finding a way to get to me again sent shivers down my spine. I turned to face the window, and the soft glow of the full moon bathed the room in silver light. The sight of the moon stirred memories I’d rather forget, the pain of seeing my mother lifeless body, helpless and frozen and the pack accusing me ok killing her. My chest tightened as guilt washed over me, sharper than any physical pain. I shouldn’t have gone alone to pick those flowers. I shouldn’t have left her side.
