96 Words

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE Rachel? Rachel kicked the eiderdown from on top of her, half asleep, half awake, not remembering when or how she’d gone to bed. Rachel? Her eyelids fluttered as she inhaled the warm, sweet musk of sweat in the bed beside her. Open the box, Rachel. Please open the box. She tossed, throwing her arm across the bed, pulling the eiderdown over her chest. She darted a fleeting glance around the room. The curtains were drawn. She was alone in the dark. She pulled the eiderdown up and over her head. Please, Rachel. She felt breath hot on her face, lips close to hers.
