Chapter 1

1839 Words
“Ally, Ally, Ally, it's time to wake up! It's your birthday!” I heard a sweet voice say to me as I started to wake up from my deep sleep. I opened my eyes to see my friend and roommate Jo. “ Good morning Jo,” I say as I starch and sit upon my bed. " Finally, your awake, happy 18th birthday Ally,” she replied with a half-smile. “Thanks, Jo,” I said with a sad tone in my voice, as I knew that this would be my last day here in this Orphanage. You see I'm an orphan, so is Jo and every friend I have, and once you turn 18 you must leave. So today is my birthday and my last day here! As I sit on my bed, all I can think about is leaving my best friend and everything I've known. Luckily for me, I have a job and a place to live lined up unlike some of the others who had to leave. I got out of bed and went for a shower, washed my long black hair. As I cleaned myself, I wondered what my new life would be like. I also wonder what kind of people I would meet in my new apartment building. After my shower, I get dressed in my favourite jeans and a plain white T-shirt. I walk to the mirror as I'm drying my hair, I look at myself with my green eyes, and take a deep breath in and out. I put my hair in a side Platt. After that, I started to pack the rest of my things. Once I'd finished packing the last of my things, I put my shoes on, grabbed my stuff and started to leave. I made my way to my new place, which is two blocks from the orphanage. My new place is a one-bedroom apartment on the 6th floor, all I own is a week's worth of clothes, a towel, a few blankets, a pillow, and a few items to cook with. I still need to get a fridge and a washing machine. I just have enough in my savings for them. I just need the delivery money which I will have after my shift tonight. I go to my new room and lay my blankets down on the floor where I will be sleeping for a while till I can afford a mattress and a bed. after I finished placing my pillow down on my blankets I stare at my clock to check the time, it was 11 am I start work at 12 I need to get a move on as there is a 10 min walk to my work and I still have to change into my work shirt and get something to eat on the way there. I arrived at work at 11:40 with 20 mins to spare. I walked through the doors of the dinner I work at, and I rushed out the back and got my apron on and back to start taking orders and cleaning up the empty plates and bowls, after what seemed like forever it got quiet. My boss, Emmett, came over to me, “Ally, have your break now while it's quiet, soon the dinner rush will start”. I nodded, agreeing with him. As he was walking away, he turned to say “Ally, you can grab some food on the house, also happy birthday”. I replied, smiling “ Thank you, Emmett". After I got some food, I sat down in a booth eating my chips and burger. I looked up as I heard a customer walk in. They were two gentlemen, they sat down in a booth next to mine. They were both very handsome. One had beautiful blue eyes, his hair was black like mine, It was neatly combed back. The second man had short brown curly hair with brown eyes. They both looked as if they were famous or even royal. Even their aura surrounding them was powerful and intimidating. The man with black hair cleared his throat and looked at me. That was when I realized I was sitting there staring at him. “Sorry!” I said and quickly got up and took my food out the back where I sat down and ate, hoping he wasn't there when I finished my break. I felt like an i***t for staring at him, but my god was he handsome. After I finished my break, I walked back out the front to start taking orders again. The men were leaving as I made it back to the front of the dinner. Thank god. The man with the black hair smiled and winked at me as his friend held the door open for him to walk out. I was a little unsure what that meant, but I went back to work, Finally, my shift was over and I began my walk home. It was 10 pm, It was dark and there was a nice breeze. I walked slowly as I wanted to take in the night air. My mind was in another place. I was thinking about today and the handsome men, wondering if I was ever going to have a boyfriend one day, wondering what he might look like or even how he would dress. Suddenly, I heard someone clearing their throat. Snapping out of my daydreaming, I looked around to see a dark figure standing in front of me. I took a step back. "Sorry miss, I didn't mean to scare you. I was just worried, you see, a young lady like you shouldn't be out this late on her own." said the dark figure in a man's voice. "I'm sorry, but it's none of your business, " I replied, walking around him. I began to walk at a faster pace than before. I turned around to make sure he wasn't following me, only to see the black-haired man from earlier today smiling back at me. I picked up my pace a bit more and hurried home. Once home, I rushed inside. Locking the door behind me, I breathed deeply to try and relax. I began to walk to my room and lay down on my blankets, thinking about how my day had been. But my mind went straight to that man, that handsome dark-haired man and his amazing blue eyes, those eyes, man. Those eyes were just so blue and shiny. I could get lost in those eyes if only his aura wasn't so powerful and scary. I thought it was very strange that I ran into him on my way home and he was smiling at me when I turned around. I decided not to worry about it and to go to sleep. I awoke to the sound of a door closing. I opened my eyes in my darkroom with a feeling that something wasn't right. I sat up on my blankets trying to remember if I locked my door. I was sure I did, but I still felt that something was wrong. I got to my feet and started to walk out of my room. All the while I was thinking that I had nothing to protect myself, with no bat, no gun, not even a lamp to throw. I started to feel scared. My gut was telling me that I needed to leave, but the only way out was my front door. I got to my doorway. That was when the light from my kitchen turned on. I jumped back to the side of my doorway where I couldn't be seen trying to slow my breathing, so whoever it was couldn't hear me. It was just my luck to get broken into on my first night. I stood as still as I could. Whoever was here was slowly walking around out there, slowly making their way to my room. The footsteps got closer. The next thing I knew, there was a shadow on the floor moving closer to my room. It looked like a man's shadow. I stood frozen shaking in fear, a hand came around the door frame feeling for the light switch. I closed my eyes and begged for this person to leave. I prayed with all my might that this person would turn around and leave, but they didn't. The light came on, my eyes opened to the man from earlier, the dark-haired man with blue eyes. He looked straight at me, moving closer and closer to me. I was still standing there, frozen. "Ah there you are, " he said with a smile, he reached his hand up to my face and lifted my chin. He looked me in my eyes and, with a harsh voice, he said, "You're coming with me!" I just stared at him and blinked for about a minute. I started to shake my head. " No!" I said, trying to sound brave, but I did not sound brave, far from it. He glared at me with cold eyes, with a grin on his face. "I'm afraid you don't have a choice here!" he said as he grabbed my arm and started dragging me out of my room. I tried to get my arm free from his strong grip, "I am stronger than you. There is no use in fighting me. You won't win!" he said with a chuckle. I replayed with a shaky voice "let me go or I'll scream". He stopped and turned to me. We had made it to my front door, his grip got tighter. "ouch that hurts," I said as I looked up at his face. "You can scream all you want but no one will help," he said with a scary look in his eyes. I stared at him for a moment and then I decided to call his bluff. Then I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and screamed as loud as I could, he let go of my arm and covered his ears. The next thing I knew, I was running back to my room away from him, not that I knew what I would do once I got there or how I would escape. But I wouldn't have time to time for that. Just as I got to my bedroom door, he grabbed my wrist, spun me around and pulled me into him, putting his other arm around my waist. He moved his head to my ear and whispered "nice try but you're mine and you're coming with me, whether you like it or not." He then kissed my cheek and started dragging me to the front door again. I was pulling my arm back as hard as I could and hitting him with my other hand to try and break free. I could hear him laugh at me as he opened the door to see his friend from the dinner smiling at him. "Is she giving you some trouble, boss?" the second man asked.
