Chapter 8

I woke up in bed alone. I sat up looking around the room, breakfast was already set out on the table. I went over to the table and began eating when Layla came in and sat down with me, "good morning". I said, looking up at Layla. " Morning Ally", she replied. I smiled back at her. I was happy to see her after last night as I was worried. Asher was so angry but then his mood changed and he was gentle and he apologized. I was confused about how someone could change their mood and behave so easily. "So, today Alphas are arriving at the pack as guests for your wedding. There will be a party tonight that you will have to attend. Asher will introduce you to everyone as his mate and bride," Layla said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Asher also asked me to tell you a few things. First, most alphas don't like humans. Second, the older alphas are very old school, which means women are seen and not heard," I looked at Layla in a bit of shock but I kind of guessed as much as I was kidnapped. I was also being forced to marry Asher, Layla, saying, "so when you greet them you will need to bow your head and don't speak unless spoken to but don't worry, I will be next to you the whole time as I'm the beta's mate," Layla said with a small on her face. "Thanks, Layla, but I do not wish to go to this party nor do I want to marry Asher, but as you know, I don't have a choice". I said as I looked away from Layla, Layla let out a sigh, she put her hand on mine and I turned my head back to face her, she gave me a sad smile, "I know this isn't what you wanted, I'm sorry about that, and I wish I could help you, but he is my alpha and I have to follow his orders". I nodded my head when the door opened and Asher walked in. "Good morning, the maids will bring some dresses for you to try on and pick one for tonight," he said as he looked at me. I looked up at him and nodded, knowing that I could not argue with him as I would lose. I was getting sick of having to do what he said, even if I said no he would make me. Asher then walked over to me and kissed my forehead, "good girl, I can't wait till tonight as I know you will look beautiful, no one can compare, to your beauty", he said with a grin. I didn't respond to his words. I just looked at the table feeling defeated. Asher then began to talk to Layla but I didn't listen to them and just got up from my chair and walked over to the window and looked out at everyone running around getting everything ready for the party tonight. I had been standing at the window for a while and didn't notice anything around me till Layla came up to me and put her hand on my shoulder, "the dresses are here for you to try on. Also, lunch is here too" she said softly. I nodded and turned around, I sighed and walked over to the dresses I had tried on a few, but I chose a lovely yet simple dress. It was floor-length and it covered the cuts that were on my legs, the colour of the dress was pale blue and it had matching heels, but thank god that the heels were small as I had never worn them before. Layla helped me with my hair and makeup, then Layla did her hair and makeup. It was nice having her with me all day, her presents helped me feel somewhat relaxed. she always seemed so calm and friendly around me. I wondered if she was always like this or if she was just doing it around me?. Once we were ready, Leroy came and knocked on the door. Layla answered and kissed him, " You look beautiful my love", he said with a smile. Layla just smiled back, "it's time to go down to the ballroom, I hope you're ready?", Leroy said as he turned to face me. I nodded my head and walked over to them. Once we made it to the ballroom doors. Asher came over to me and held my hand. I was nervous but Asher's touch helped me feel calm. Asher looked down at me and whispered in my ear "you look beautiful, as I knew you would". My face felt hot, I must have been blushing but I didn't say anything to him. I was still mad that he was making me do all this. I didn't want to be here, let alone come down to this party and meet all these people, I mean wolves. The maids took hold of the double doors and began to open them. The older man then said loudly "Alpha Asher of the moonstone pack and his mate and soon to be Luna of the moonstone pack, Ally". As we walked in, everyone's heads were bowed, there were so many people here and I had never been standing in front of this many people. I was a little scared, everyone was now staring at me as we walked over to our seats, which were on a platform. I'm guessing so that everyone could see us. After we took our seats, Layla and Leroy followed behind us. While we sat in our seats, Layla and Leroy stood beside us. I felt bad that I got to sit and they didn't. Once the music started, people began to come up to greet us one by one. Everyone was saying how happy they were for us as we found our mates. I felt frustrated and annoyed as I did not want any of this, but I smiled, and I said thanks and acted the part as I was told to do. Not everyone here was an Alpha or Luna. You could tell by the way they acted who was and wasn't alpha or Luna, they acted no different than the stuck up rich people that I had met before. I wanted to roll my eyes at them and walk away but I couldn't. Asher still had hold of my hand. An older man came up to us and bowed his head. Asher and I both bowed our heads back. Asher then began to speak " Good evening Alpha Klaus, I wasn't sure if you would come, as I know you dislike humans" after Asher said that I looked at him. So this is one of the alphas that I'm going to have to look out for, I thought to myself. Klaus looked over at me with a grin on his face, " Yes, your right Asher, I do dislike humans. I only came here to witness your downfall. A human mate will only make you weak!" Klaus chuckled, Asher's hand gripped mine tighter. Klaus's words made Asher annoyed. I could feel it in the air, I don't know how, but I could. " Having a human as a mate does not make me weak" Asher growled, but Klaus did not seem to care and he shrugged his shoulders and began to walk away as he did. He turned to say "we will soon see". After he was out of sight, I turned to Asher. " Please loosen your grip. It hurts" I said softly, "sorry", Asher replied as he loosened his grip. After a few hours of meeting so many people, Asher asked me to dance. I nodded and he led me to the dance floor. I was happy to leave that seat. I was so sick of meeting people. As we reached the dance floor, a slow song started. Asher put my hands around his neck and then put his on my waist. I looked into his eyes and he into mine and we slowly began to move to the music. I enjoyed his touch but I could also feel everyone looking at us and it made me feel uneasy. Asher moved closer to me and whispered "I'm sorry, I know this is not what you wanted, but I will try my best to make sure you have the best life". I nodded my head "thank you". I said back, but all I wanted to do was run away. I liked his touch and wished that we could have gotten to know each other better and maybe even dated before getting married. It would have been nice if he hadn't taken me. I didn't want to do this and he is not even giving me an option. Asher kissed my forehead, snapping me out of my thoughts. "I know all of this is hurting you, I can feel it" Asher whispered in my ear. I looked him in the eyes, feeling as if I could cry, "sorry," I said softly, as I didn't know what else to say, and then I looked away. I couldn't stand seeing the sadness in his eyes. I did low key, like that my pain was hurting him as I felt that he should feel pain too. It was unfair that I had to be taken away from everyone I know and everything that I have worked for. I didn't even get to say goodbye or grab any of my things. Not that I owned much, but hey, that's not the point. After the song finished, I looked back at Asher. " May I go back to the room now?" I asked. Asher's eyes glazed over for a second. "Layla will take you back," he said in a low voice. Layla put her hand on my shoulder and I turned around and followed her back to the room. Once we were in the room, I let out a sign, "I will stay with you tonight and help you get ready tomorrow", Layla said with a soft smile and I nodded, then signed again as I laid down on the bed, falling asleep almost instantly.
