Regaleon
She walked toward me, but before I could say "mate," she spoke and shocked me.
"Good morning, sir. I'm the rep for the mass comm class, Skylar."
_‘What is our mate saying? Does she not recognize us?’_ Ace asks in my head, his voice sharp.
‘Give me some time to figure this out.’ I reply to him, forcing my wolf to calm down.
"Skylar, is it? Let me have the course outline." I say, trying so hard to play it cool. My voice is deeper than usual.
She nods and hands a piece of paper to me. Her fingers brush mine. Soft. Warm.
_‘I wanted to hear her speak. Her voice is so addictive.’_ Ace says but I don't reply because I am busily trying to act normal.
I took the paper but I couldn't look away, and she looked back with a little confused smile. Her eyes are large, innocent. She has no idea what she does to me.
What is happening? She's human? But her smell is so strong. You can smell the vanilla and rain even in a room with over a thousand students, but then how come I only saw her today? In a campus of 5,000, I could find her blindfolded. That scent is burned into my brain.
I finally tear my gaze from her face and look down on the paper.
-Skylar P. Fox- It was signed by her. The handwriting is neat, small.
"Nice handwriting." The comment leaves my mouth before I think of it and I look up right on time to catch the blush and cute smile on her face.
"Thank you, Sir." She says and Ace growls to that, low and possessive in my chest.
Her voice is nice indeed but Ace seems to like it a lot. Too much.
"We shouldn't keep the class waiting anymore. Let's go." I say then get up from the desk. My body is tense.
Skylar just nods, turns around and starts leaving with me following behind.
_‘She seems to not like talking.’_ Ace says and I almost groan in annoyance.
‘What is with you and her voice? Are you some voice creep?’
_‘What is with you and her backside? Why do you keep looking? Are you some butt creep.’_ Ace replies but that ends it because I cut him off and avert my gaze before I fall over. This girl will be the death of me.
I really need to meet Michael, my Beta, and talk to him about this situation. A human mate who smells like a wolf?
Skylar
Whatever was bothering me needed to stop because now, I'm really slacking off. Since the new professor began his class, I haven't been able to focus. He sounds low but bold. How is that even possible?
I couldn't even control myself and just kept on staring earlier when he was talking to me but I guess I didn't really leave a good impression on him because he looked confused when I spoke.
‘Was it my voice? Did I sound way too much like a child?’
‘But I'm not a chi...’
Someone taps me and I look over.
"Oh Reina, what is it?" I say quietly with relief evident because what if it was someone else? What if I had been asked a question and all I was doing was looking at the lecturer with puppy eyes.
"So you have even forgotten I'm right here because of the man." She whispers and I glare at her.
"Be respectful. He's the lecturer and keep quiet, class is still in session." I whisper in response.
"I thought you forgot we are in class but I think you should also be respectful with the way you're drooling over him."
"Who's drooling." I roll my eyes at Reina but check if I'm really drooling.
I hear her chuckle lightly as she turns to focus on the lecture. I do same and my eyes meet with the Professor's eyes and oh please, someone should help me already!!

I survive the class. I didn't die of heart failure as a result of all the fast thumping when I meet the Professor's gaze.
He is packing his stuff to leave when he looks up and says "Sky, meet me at my office for your assignment." in that voice! His low, bold voice that makes my stomach flip.
I manage a nod and he walks out soon.
I'm about to go to his office when I hear Reina humming a tune. I ignore and continue gathering my stuff but it was getting louder so I just ask what she wants from me.
"Spill, girl, spill." She says and I'm kind of confused
"Spill what?"
"Don't do that. You two are already at nicknames. 'Sky?' For real?" She makes sure to emphasize the Sky
"Go find something to eat, Reina. I'm sure you are hungry."
I'm about to run off when Nyla appears from nowhere and sits next to me.
"What are you doing here, Nyla?" I ask her
"What is that supposed to mean? I came for the communications class." She responds
"You are now majoring in Journalism too?"
"Girl, how have you always been top of the class? Mass comm in Public Relations? Forgotten? Not everyone who came for the class wants to be a Journalist, dude." She rolls her eyes at me as realization dawns on me but I'm not saying anything about her being right.
"Okay. Off you go, I need to get to the Professor's office." I say and she acts like she finally remembers why she came to me.
"I wanted to ask, did you meet someone new this morning?" Nyla asks with a serious face and I shake my head
"Nope. Why do you ask?"
"Nothing. I just met someone who was looking for you. Maybe she was just looking for the rep to call the lecturer." With that, she's gone
I look at Reina who's been quiet since Nyla came. They don't really talk and try their best to ignore each other because of Reina's brother.
"See you at the cafeteria." I say and she says okay so I walk away.
When I get to the office, the Professor is sitting there so I adjust my clothes and put on a smile. I even cleared my throat.
'Can't sound like a child if I want him to look at me.'
"Sir, please I'm here." My efforts are futile. I still sound the same.
"Yeah. That's the assignment. Tell the class the submission date is next week, when we meet for the next class." He says and I nod then go over to pick up the assignment.
I didn't even get to pick up the assignment before I feel the most pleasant sensation I've ever felt shoot through me. Like electricity, like warmth. His fingers.
When I check, the professor is touching my mark — the strange birthmark on my neck that I don't know its origin — and he looks pissed. His eyes are dark, almost black. His jaw is clenched.
"You are already marked?" He questions, his voice louder than usual, dangerous, while I stand there, looking at him like a lost kid.
