The ride home was completely silent.
Lucien said nothing to me throughout the drive, and honestly, I preferred it that way. The embarrassment from earlier still burned deeply inside me.
The moment the car stopped inside the pack compound, Lucien grabbed my wrist tightly.
Too tightly.
I winced in pain as he dragged me out of the car.
I pulled my hand slightly, tears filling my eyes again.
“What exactly have I done to you, Lucien?” I asked weakly.
“The embarrassment you caused me outside wasn’t enough?”
He laughed.
A dark, wicked laugh that made chills run through my body.
“Embarrassment?” he repeated mockingly.
Then he stepped closer to me.
“I simply do not love you anymore.”
His lips curved into a cruel grin.
“So go into the room, pack your belongings, and get out of my pack.”
My breath caught instantly.
“I’m stripping you of your Luna title tonight.”
For a moment, I honestly thought he was joking.
I let out a small nervous laugh.
“You’re joking… right?”
His face darkened immediately.
“Do I look like I’m joking?” he growled
“Get inside and do what I said.”
Fear spread through my chest.
“Lucien, you can’t do this to me,” I whispered shakily.
“We are fated mates.”
“And?” he asked coldly.
“I don’t care about the bond anymore.”
"I've told you before, I only claimed you to gain territory"
His words stabbed painfully into my chest.
“Just do as I said.”
Suddenly my knees gave out beneath me.
I fell before him.
“Please…” I begged desperately.
“Please don’t do this.”
Lucien laughed again.
“Oh, look at this,” he mocked cruelly.
“She still wants to remain my Luna.”
“Poor little Sara.”
Tears rolled down my cheeks as I stared at him helplessly.
Then suddenly, his expression changed.
“Well… maybe we can make a deal.”
I frowned slightly.
“A deal?”
“Yes,” he replied calmly.
“A very simple one.”
He folded his arms across his chest.
“If you agree to it, you can remain the Luna of this pack.”
Hope flickered weakly inside me.
“What is it?” I asked carefully.
His eyes dropped to my stomach.
Then his expression turned cold again.
“Get rid of that child.”
My entire body froze.
“Abort it,” he continued without emotion.
“And you can remain my Luna.”
“But if you refuse…”
His eyes darkened dangerously.
“I’ll strip you of your title and throw you out tonight.”
A cold chill ran through my entire body.
“What?” I whispered in shock.
“You’ve said this before,” I cried.
“And I already told you I can’t do it.”
My hand moved protectively to my stomach.
“This is our baby.”
“Our first pup.”
Lucien scoffed angrily.
“And I already told you,” he snapped.
“You will never be the woman to give me an heir.”
His eyes burned with irritation.
“So get rid of that bastard.”
Pain and anger rose inside me instantly.
I hated hearing him call my baby that word.
This child was innocent.
I already loved my baby deeply, even before birth.
And no matter what happened, I believed my child would survive.
Slowly, I stood up.
Tears still stained my face, but this time there was something else inside me.
Strength.
Painful strength.
I stared directly into Lucien’s eyes.
“If protecting my baby means leaving this pack,” I said firmly, “then I will leave.”
For the first time that night, Lucien looked shocked.
He had expected me to choose the Luna title.
To choose him.
But I chose my child.
Without another word, I turned and walked upstairs.
My hands trembled as I packed my clothes into a small luggage bag.
Everything felt unreal.
Just this morning, I was still the Luna of Silver Crest Pack.
Now I was leaving with nowhere to go.
When I returned downstairs with my bag, Lucien was waiting.
“I’ll leave,” I said quietly.
A slow smirk appeared on his face.
Then his voice turned cold and authoritative.
“I, Alpha Lucien of Silver Crest Pack, hereby strip you of your Luna title and sever every bond and tie connecting us.”
The moment the words left his lips, a sharp pain tore through my chest.
I gasped loudly.
My wolf howled painfully inside me.
Tears rushed down my face instantly.
The bond.
He had truly broken it.
The pain was unbearable.
“I’ll have the council prepare the divorce papers,” he continued coldly.
“I’m done with you.”
Then he pointed toward the door.
“Now get out.”
My legs felt weak as I picked up my luggage.
Slowly, I walked toward the entrance.
No one stopped me.
And just like that, I walked out of the pack house.
The cold night air hit my skin immediately.
Tears rolled endlessly down my cheeks as I walked aimlessly down the lonely road.
I had nowhere to go.
The Blue Moon Pack, my former pack, the pack I once belonged before I became the Luna of Silver Crest Pack. They would never accept me back after being rejected as a Luna.
I was worse than a rogue now.
Lonely.
Rejected.
Broken.
My hand moved gently over my stomach.
“At least I still have you,” I whispered softly to my baby.
Then suddenly, a thought crossed my mind.
Alpha Marcus.
I still had his number.
Maybe I could ask him for help.
But immediately, I shook my head.
After the humiliation Lucien caused earlier, Marcus probably regretted ever helping me.
Then my wolf spoke softly inside my head.
“You can call him.”
“Perhaps he will allow you stay at Crystal Moon Pack tonight.”
I suddenly laughed bitterly.
“That’s ridiculous,” I muttered.
But my wolf refused to stay quiet.
“Call him, Sara.”
“I believe he will answer.”
Maybe it was foolishness.
Maybe desperation.
But slowly, I brought out my phone and dialed his number.
The call connected almost immediately.
“Hello?” his deep voice answered.
My throat tightened.
“Marcus… it’s me, Sara.”
“I’m really sorry about what happened earlier.”
“It’s fine,” he replied calmly.
I paused nervously before finally speaking again.
“I… I need your help.”
There was silence for a brief moment.
Then he asked softly,
“What happened?”
My lips trembled.
“I was wondering if I could come to Crystal Moon Pack tonight.”
Another brief silence followed.
“It’s already late,” he said carefully.
“Please,” I whispered desperately.
“It’s important.”
I heard him sigh softly over the phone.
“Alright,” he finally agreed.
“You can come.”
“I’ll inform the guards.”
Relief flooded through me instantly.
“Thank you so much,” I whispered emotionally.
The call ended.
I let out a shaky breath I did not realize I had been holding.
“See?” my wolf said proudly.
“I told you he could become your savior.”
I rolled my eyes slightly.
“Ridiculous,” I muttered.
Just then, headlights appeared from a distance.
A car approached slowly.
I quickly waved my hand.
Thankfully, the car stopped beside me.
A middle aged woman rolled down the window and stared at me with concern.
“My goodness,” she said softly.
“What is a pregnant woman doing alone by the roadside at this hour?”
Tears burned my eyes again.
“Please,” I begged weakly.
“I’m stranded.”
“I need to get to Crystal Moon Pack.”
The woman’s expression softened immediately.
“Get in,” she said kindly.
“I’ll take you there.”
———
I still was not fully sure about coming to Alpha Marcus.
Everything had happened too fast.
Just this morning, I was still the Luna of Silver Crest Pack.
By afternoon, my surgery had been completed.
By evening, Lucien had rejected me and thrown me out like I meant nothing.
And now, late in the night, I was standing inside another pack entirely.
Life truly changed within seconds.
The guards at Crystal Moon Pack welcomed me warmly the moment I arrived. None of them looked at me with disgust or judgment. Instead, they treated me with respect, and honestly, it felt strange.
Very strange.
One of the guards led me deeper into the pack until we stopped in front of a large black door.
“The Alpha is inside,” he said politely before opening the door for me.
I swallowed nervously and stepped inside.
“Good evening,” I greeted softly.
The guard closed the door behind me and left.
Alpha Marcus stood near the large window inside the chamber. His back faced me at first, and for a moment, I froze.
He was not wearing a shirt.
Dark tattoos spread across his broad back and muscular arms. His body was firm and strong, the kind expected from a powerful Alpha. Even the air around him carried confidence and authority.
For a second, I forgot my pain and simply stared.
Then he turned around.
“Welcome to Crystal Moon Pack,” he said calmly.
But the moment his eyes landed on the luggage in my hand, his expression changed immediately.
His brows furrowed deeply.
“Why are you here with your luggage?” he asked slowly.
The question alone broke something inside me.
My lips trembled.
I tried to stay strong.
I really tried.
But tears suddenly rushed down my cheeks again.
“He chased me out,” I whispered painfully.
“And… he stripped me of my Luna title.”
Marcus stayed quiet.
“My mate,” I continued weakly.
“The man you saw earlier today.”
“I have nowhere else to go.”
For a moment, Marcus said nothing.
His jaw tightened slightly before he walked toward me slowly.
There was no disgust in his eyes.
No judgment.
Only concern.
He gently took the luggage from my hand and placed it aside before guiding me toward one of the soft couches.
“Sit down,” he said softly.
I sat slowly while wiping my tears.
Marcus sat opposite me.
“Tell me everything.”
His voice was low and calm, almost comforting.
And strangely… I felt safe.
For the first time in a very long while, I felt like someone actually wanted to listen to me.
So I told him everything.
Everything.
I told him how Lucien treated me after claiming me as his mate.
How he never loved me.
How he constantly humiliated me.
How he told me he only claimed me to gain territory.
How he openly flirted with other women without caring about my feelings.
How he brought mistresses into our home while still expecting me to remain silent.
I told him about the night he came home drunk.
About what we had and how he called it a mistake.
I went ahead to tell him about the pregnancy.
Even how he wanted me to abort it.
About the surgery.
And finally, about tonight.
How Lucien forced me to choose between my baby and my Luna title.
Marcus remained silent through it all, but the darker his expression became, the more I realized he was angry.
Very angry.
“So he wanted you to abort the baby?” Marcus finally asked quietly.
I nodded slowly.
My hand moved gently to my stomach.
“He keeps calling my baby a bastard,” I whispered brokenly.
Marcus suddenly clenched his fists tightly.
The veins in his arms became visible.
His wolf aura slightly filled the room, making the air feel heavier.
“Why are some Alphas this cruel?” he muttered angrily.
I stayed quiet.
Honestly, I had asked myself the same question countless times.
Marcus took a deep breath before calming himself.
Then he looked directly at me.
“Listen to me carefully, Sara.”
His voice softened again.
“You are safe here.”
I blinked slowly.
“You can stay in Crystal Moon Pack for as long as you want.”
“You and your baby.”
My chest tightened emotionally.
“I will make sure you lack nothing,” he continued firmly.
“You will be protected here.”
“And no one will force you to harm your child.”
Fresh tears rolled down my cheeks instantly.
Not tears of pain this time.
Relief.
For so long, I had suffered alone.
I had cried alone.
Endured humiliation alone.
But right now, sitting here in front of Marcus, it suddenly felt like someone finally cared.
Like someone finally saw me.
“I…” my voice cracked.
“I don’t even know what to say.”
Marcus gave me a small smile.
“You do not have to say anything.”
“But you should rest.”
“You have been through too much already.”
I lowered my eyes, trying to calm my emotions.
And strangely, for the first time in months, my wolf felt peaceful.
Safe.
Like the pain inside us had finally reduced a little.
Marcus stood up slowly.
“I’ll ask someone to prepare a room for you.”
Then he paused briefly before adding,
“And Sara…”
I looked up at him.
“No one will hurt you here.”
"I promise to take care of you and your unborn child"
The sincerity in his eyes shattered the remaining pain inside me completely.
And at that moment, standing inside another Alpha’s chamber while carrying Lucien’s child, I realized something.
For the first time since I got mated to Lucien…
I no longer wanted to go back.
