The Game Facilitators

“Aren’t working too hard Lieutenant Macord?” Another man with a big smile suddenly greeted him. He has great features with chiseled jawlines, sharp nose and blue eyes. ‘Here comes another work.’ Macord internally complained. “What are you doing here, Captain Yuslan? Shouldn't you be on your way to lead the Renaissance?” “I see that your tongue is still sharp. Considering I am a Captain in ranking.” “Gabrielle is also a Captain but do you consider a Captain of Renaissance Force a High Rank?” Macord said as he frowned heavily. Yuslan laughed. “You are right. Isn’t our favorite ‘Captain’ rebelling too much? Why let them go? ” Macord sighed and almost rolled his eyes as he moved to a seat near him. “If only it was up to me, I would have that soldier underneath me.” “Macord, It didn’t know your hots for that child… think of your age. You can go to jail.” Macord glares at Yuslan. “What the f**k are talking about? I am only 39.” “Gabrielle is 24 or 25. You cradle stealer.” “Seriously, stop it. You know what I meant. Gabrielle is an asset we cannot afford to lose. I would like to bring her in the circle.” “...but higher up, disagreed? I kind of agree with them. I would rather keep a good soldier like that righteous because you wouldn’t know… What if she didn’t take the ‘games’ lightly?” “Isn’t she rebelling now, ‘Captain’. The higher ups are letting her do whatever she wants but she messes up. We are the one cleaning it all… Last time, I lost 8 soldiers cleaning up Level One venue, because she is coming.” “Should we bring this up to the higher ups?” Yuslan jokingly brought it up. “I was a fool for a second you can be serious. If you want to be thrown outside, yeah sure go ahead.” Macord stood in his seat and went back to supervision, while Yuslan was snickering at his grumpy friend. Approaching alongside a white board, Yuslan blocked a woman in a military uniform’s way. “Be a darling and explain to me how to bet on this.” He pointed at the whiteboard with several choices. **** “Is this the place? The place you’ve seen them and disappeared without a trace” Alexa asked, squinting her eyes up to the building. “There is no sign of a horde march.” Addington said as we came up to the group. Horde march is when a big group of undead are marching in one direction. “Exactly. That’s why it was odd. It’s too clean.” Gabrielle frowned as she remembered seeing hundreds of undead and the undead bodies were moved. “Let’s split up. Alexa, come with me, the rest look for clues in the building.” They all agree. Gabrielle and Alexa went down to the parking lot. As they went down to the rundown dark parking. Gabrielle smelled the air, but she had not detected the foul stench of decaying body, only the smell of oldness. Their guns hanging on their sides are ready to be drawn but for now, they are only using a flashlight to light their way. “Didn’t you say, you’ve already scanned the building? It’s hard for you not to notice anything.” Alexa said. *shiing Unnoticeable to them a camera is moving and capturing their movements. Behind those cameras were several military men headed by Macord. “Sir, three had gone inside the building. Currently on the first floor.” “Okay zoom, their faces. You scan their profile.” “Isn’t that, Adam Addington. Man, he is still alive.” Yuslan appeared beside Macord eating cake. “Why are you still here?” “Ohmm… wait… this!” Yuslan finished chewing his cake and then showed a tablet then waved it. “... I am betting on the games.” Macord has this unimpressed look on his carefree attitude. “Sir. We pulled their records.” a soldier said. “Show it to the screen.” Four identities have been displayed on the big screen. As he navigates to their profile, the crease on Macord’s forehead is getting deeper and deeper. Yuslan is laughing as he sits down and continues to eat his cake. “I give it to our Captain Gabrielle, she managed to pull a team like this in a short amount of time. You are screwed, Macord.” Macord massage his eyes and temples before giving orders. “Send a word to Major, tell him, I ask permission to eliminate these individuals.” On the other side of the monitors are Adam Addington and two more men. “Hey, I haven’t had the chance to ask but, what is your name?” Adam asked as the man beside him watched the other one looking at the opened elevators on the second floor. “Apollo Victorwood.” He answered. “How did you know, Gabrielle?” “I don’t. She just contacted me out of nowhere. . . in case you are asking next. I went along because of mutual interest.” Apollo said and began his own research. “How about you, Sir Adam?” The man with curly hair asked as he walked up to them. “Well...You can say I am bored.” “Even if you are working with your ex wife?” Skeptic. “Doesn't that make it more fun? Are you done here?” Adam said. “Yes and I think Captain Gabrielle is right. There ‘was’ at least a hundred undead here.” “You can tell?” The glasses guy nodded slightly and said ‘more or less.’ The camera zooms in on him and his profile on the big screen is for everyone to see. [Xian Lee. 29 years old. 35 Wall Resident. Occupation:1st Grade Detective, Consultant to Police [...] ] “...Not only undead but live people as well.” Xian continued. Adam had a strained expression as Xian led him to the elevators. He showed the blood print on it, at first seeing it, there was nothing wrong in it since dried blood seemed to look like this after a while. Adam didn’t get it and showed another stain around the area. “Compare it. What is the difference?” Xian asked. “The color? The former is darker?” Xian shook his head. Adam concentrated and sees it now. The wall has some vine-like plants and algae forming in it so if the print is old it should be placed underneath the formed moat not above it. The latter bloodprint in the wall is half half. Half of it’s print is above the veins and leaves but another half is underneath. Xian showed another piece of evidence, the sides of the elevator doesn’t have anything on it which is odd unless it moved recently since it isn't paired with the current floor. As they travel through the emergency exit, Xian’s hypothesis was supported. The handles on the doors of both sides, some parts were clean and used until recently. They got up to the rooftop. There was nothing there. “Hmm… Captain Gabrielle said about undeads that had fallen to their deaths right?” Xian’s hair fluttered in the cold wind blowing. Looking around the corner, something caught his eyes. He reached for it at the edge and said “Found it. Evidence.” He held it up and showed Adam and Apollo the item. It was an ear with an earring. They looked at him like they don’t understand how that is evidence. “Nevermind the ear. Look at the earrings. If you don’t know what this is. This was two years ago the best selling earrings among women in the inner walls.” “What is that doing here?” Adam asked with a snide smirk. Xian put it inside a ziplock and put it inside his bag. Before they exit the rooftop Apollo turns around and scans for more. “What is it?” Adam also scans the surroundings. “I feel like we are being watched.” All three took a moment but when nothing had happened, they continued on their way out. *Shiing A camera lens moved from the other side of the space. A hidden camera. “Should we take this a betting game, Macord. Will they find the Second level venue or not?” Yuslan said. Macord clicked his tongue and asked “Is there any contact with the Major?” “No. Sir.” “Ah. crap… How is the clean up on the second level venue?” “It is still ongoing, we have already caught 39 loitering undead.” “Double time. Wrap it for 12 hours. If they discover that we are all kissing our asses goodbye.” “Yuslan, go away. YOU should be meeting your new group now.” “Aye aye! Captain.” He gave a salute and left the room. *Ting One by one, some phone, tables or PC had alarmed on one beep. [Betting Update] [Will the Stray Cat find the Mouse’s house in 12 hours?
