CHAPTER TWO

"Okay, now that Lily and Angelina are playing the guitar, and Rose is on the drums, I'll take the lead vocals, and you'll be my backup. Is everyone clear on that?" Mitchie inquired. "Absolutely clear," the ladies responded in unison. "Perfect. Enjoy yourselves and let loose," Mitchie said before excusing herself to have her dinner. The night had fallen, with Lily and Angelina engrossed in a movie, while Rose joyfully indulged in a chocolate feast, heedless of the consequences. BRRRRIIIIIINNG! An alarm clock rang, grabbing everyone's attention, indicating that it was 8 o'clock. "Huh, I haven't had dinner," Lily remarked. "Me neither," Angelina added. Rose, unperturbed as she had already satisfied her appetite, got up and retired to her room, bidding everyone good night. Lily and Angelina opted for some pies and strawberry-flavored juice before they all headed to bed. At this juncture, Lily was still sleeping, while Angelina was engrossed in her phone, wearing a headset. Rose remained sound asleep, having reveled in her love for food the previous night. Meanwhile, Mitchie, who had been awake, began to move from one lady's room to another, starting with Lily, as she started to sing... In the morning, Prayers to Father Lord, (Lily awoke at this point, stretching her arms and legs. Mitchie then moved on to Rose's room.) In the morning, Tasks are to be done. (Rose sprang up upon learning it was an ice cream day and made her way to Angelina's room.) I've brought you yogurt, For your breakfast, With slices of cake... (Now all of them were awake.) "Good morning, ladies," Mitchie greeted after concluding her song. "Good morning, Mitchie," the ladies echoed. "How was your night?" Mitchie inquired. "Absolutely fine," Angelina replied. "The morning music was fantastic. I enjoyed it," Lily added. "That's wonderful to hear," Mitchie responded. "Yes, I enjoyed it too, especially thanks to the yogurt, ice cream, and, um, yes, the pieces of cake," Rose interjected with a chuckle. (All joined in the laughter.) "You truly have a passion for food, Rose. Speaking of breakfast, the ice cream and cakes are waiting for us in the dining room," Mitchie informed them. "And also," she continued, "once you've finished breakfast, get dressed. We're heading somewhere today." "That sounds exciting," Angelina exclaimed as she made her way to the dining room to join the others who were leisurely savoring their meal. She sang a song as she went... The flavor is so delightful, A truly scrumptious meal... After a few minutes of singing, Angelina stopped as she began to eat. Eventually, they all finished breakfast and retreated to their respective rooms to get ready, as they were going out with Mitchie. "Ladies, let's move quickly. We need to leave now," Mitchie urged, picking up her car keys and heading outside to her spacious vehicle. She got in and waited for the ladies, who joined her a few minutes later. Then, she drove out of the lavish compound. During the journey, Lily, seated by the car door, gazed at the towering skyscrapers, houses, and other buildings that they passed by. The sky was bright, yet the sun had not yet risen, creating a serene and luminous atmosphere. However, amidst the beauty, Lily's thoughts drifted to her troubled past. Memories of her stern father, Grayson, flooded her mind. An elderly man with gray hair and a protruding belly, he wore glasses that gave him a somewhat intimidating look, resembling a hyena. In his younger days, Grayson had been a musician, singing about government cruelty. His activism led to imprisonment, but upon his release, he withdrew from music and married Elizabeth, who later gave birth to Lily. Lily's father recounted these stories from his past when she shared her desire to become a musician. He employed these tales to discourage her, attempting to crush her aspirations. However, Lily's determination remained unshaken. She recalled her firm response to her father's discouragement, which only further angered him, eventually leading her to run away from home. Grayson consistently hindered Lily's dreams of becoming a musician. She vividly remembered the time she asked her father for a drum, only to have her request brushed aside. Her mother, Elizabeth, stepped in and purchased a drum set for her. Lily kept the set hidden in an unused room, but Grayson eventually discovered it and destroyed it, leaving Lily disheartened. One particular day, upon returning from school, Lily found her parents absent. She eagerly headed to the room to play the drums, only to find them already ruined. She realized that her father, Grayson, was responsible for the destruction.
