Nothing had been done about Agnes' kidnap. It made me wonder if the Alpha had done that himself but I knew that if I wanted to keep my head on my neck I had to keep my mouth shut.
I cared deeply for Agnes. We had not spent a long time knowing each other but she had become a dependable friend and I felt like I had sent her to an early grave by advising her to become the Alpha's woman.
