Brielle's POV By the time I made it back to my room, I was seething. Jake. That arrogant, insufferable, unbelievable man. I slammed the door behind me, the sound echoing through the quiet space, but it did nothing to calm the storm raging inside me. My hands clenched at my sides, my breath coming in short, furious bursts as I paced the floor, each step only fueling my frustration. My heart was still pounding from our fight: both the physical one and the unspoken one that had crackled between us like a damn live wire. Every moment replayed in my mind like a film stuck on an endless loop. The way he had smirked at me, as if he already knew exactly how I would react. The way his voice had dipped into that infuriatingly smooth tone, laced with challenge and something far more dangerous.
