I didn’t sleep that night.
Not after our fight.
Not after the way he looked at me,like he wanted to fix things but didn’t know how.
And not after the way I’d walked away first.
I hated how much it still hurt.
I hated that I cared.
But most of all, I hated that he’d looked at me like I was one of them. Like I was just another name on his list of possible mistakes.
I wasn’t a mistake.
I was the damn Luna.
And if Jake couldn’t see that right now,fine.
I’d show him.
I’d show all of them.
The first rays of sunlight spilled through the war room window as I stood over the table, redrawing the patrol routes again, this time with emphasis on the eastern sector. That’s where the first ambush had happened. The timing, the execution,it was too clean. Too calculated.
