"Sweetheart? Why haven't you touched your food yet?" Mom asked me when she noticed that I was just staring at her and Dad.
"Are you sick huh?" she added before finally stroking my forehead and neck to feel my temperature.
"No, Mom..."
"I really can't believe that you and Dad are here now and we can eat breakfast together," I answered with delight in my tone.
A wide smile appeared on Mom's face before she finally caressed my arm, "Go ahead sweetheart, eat before your food gets cold."
I couldn't help but smile at the two of them before finally biting into the food. But just for a moment, I suddenly felt the pain in my eyes as I stopped my tears from falling and ate what Mom cooked at the same time. I'm just happy that I was given the chance to taste Mom's cooking again.
