MILA'S POV
I had patiently waited for Carter at home, but he finally returned after one week with his girlfriend in tow. If it were another woman, I wouldn't have minded so much, but this was Claudia's niece!! How much more vindictive could he be? I found it difficult to hide my emotions when they had showed up at the door. He finished it all by saying he was only here to pack his stuffs so he could completely move out. I felt so hurt! I knew coming back to New York and regaining Carter's love and trust was going to be difficult, but it just occurred to me that it was a waste of time. Carter was clearly in love with this woman judging by the way he looked at her. Getting him back was going to be a very tough thing to do especially from such a distance.
