Jasmine’s Point of view.
I stood in the doorway as I looked at Javier who was looking at Adelyn, whose hand was on his cheek gently stroking it. I gulped down the lump I felt in my throat because I couldn’t hold myself.
Avery looked at me as she cleared her throat. Javier turned to the door with Adelyn. He didn’t seem startled to see me.
What was I going to do? Act like this was nothing or just walk away? I looked at Javier as I turned on my heel, heading to the elevator.
“Jasmine”, I heard Avery’s voice behind me but I completely ignored her as I walked to the elevator. I hastily walked to the elevator and as soon as I got there, I started pressing the button, hoping the doors would open for me.
“Jasmine?” I heard Javier’s voice as I continuously pressed the button.
