Chapter Nine
A Time for Goodbyes
Caitlin was at the marina when she got the call. It was the home that was caring for Granny. The administrator told her to come at once, her Grandma was failing fast. She left immediately, explaining to Jerry that she had to go and telling him why. She arrived at the home in just a few minutes and her Granny’s nurse and caregiver met her.
“We are so glad you could come, Miss Power,” the nurse told her. “We thought you would want to be here.”
“May I see her,” Caitlin asked.
“Certainly,” and she led her into the intensive care facility. Granny was asleep and on oxygen. Caitlin shed tears seeing her that way. It broke her heart.
“How long,” she asked.
“It may be minutes, or it may be hours,” the nurse told her.
“I have to make a phone call,” Caitlin
