Trolls and Fire

Jon awoke, both girls still sleeping he decided to let them rest longer while he packed all the supplies. As he was trying to stay quite, the shuffling woke up Dolyia. “Morning” she said with a big yawn as she stretched out sitting up from her mat. “Mornin’, you should wake Shea’ and get your things ready to go.” Jon said quietly to her. Dolyia, still sitting, leaned over and shook Shea’. “Wake up, sleepy head, we gotta get going soon.” Dolyia said still with a yawning voice. “Okay, I'm awake now.” Shea’ said back while rubbing her eyes clean and stretching at the same time. Jon had finished packing, Dolyia was almost finished. She just needed to pack away and load up her potions supplies. Shea’ was fast at packing and finished before Doyia. “Come on slowpoke. I woke up last and I'm ready. Hahaha.” Shea’ giggled. “I’m hurrying-- “And done.” Dolyia said as she put the last vial in its pocket. ~Jon had mentioned things and tasks to come too soon~ Dolyia thought as she remembered last night's conversations. “Let's hit the road, ladies!” Jon yipped at them. And off they went down the road towards the crossover line. It was a peaceful walk. The trees were flowing in the light lavender scented breeze. They could hear the birds chirping away with their songs. It sounded so sweet to Dolyia’s and Shea’s ears. The sun was shining bright, very little coulds were out. The air blowing through their hair and around them was warm. They walked for a while more as the road narrowed and widened. After quite some time they came upon a thick line of tall thin trees, with a single narrowed path running through it. This path was long seeming and very dark from the cover shade of all the trees, both girls got shivers and their hair stood up on their skin. They knew something was bound to happen soon. As they continued the shade lightened up out to an opening and the sun came back out. They saw a bridge covered in vines, flowers and moss. It looked beautiful with a big river running under the bridge, it was to strong of a current to cross through the water. They had to cross the bridge no matter what, as the three continued forward Dolyia's thoughts went to the trolls Jon had spoken of. She thought why would such a pretty place have trolls. She kept her mind on keeping calm and ready for anything to happen. "!STOP RIGHT THERE!" Out jumped 2 short stumpy creatures, they had scraggly hair strands all over them. Wearing only rags and leather straps to cover them up, mud was splattered all over them. And the smell was so awful. Both Dolyia and Shea' stumbled backwards behind Jon. Disgusted by theres two trolls, but pulled thier courage together. Trying to be brave they stepped to both sides of Jon and readied themselves. One troll was taller then the other, he stepped forward holding a hachet to big for him. "To cross our bridge you must answer a riddle." They taller of the two trolls spoke. Then the second shorter one chimed in, and stepped forward next to his brother. He was holding a smaller hachet then the other. "There are 2 doors life and death. We are 2 trolls a lying one and a truth telling one. You have to get through the right door by asking both of us the same question and only 1 question. What will u ask?" Snickering the troll brothers looked at each other. The taller one then added. "You only get 3 guesses, one from each of you." Snickering again they both sat down blocking the bridge. Jon was the 1st to guess. “What door is safe?” he said right away. “NOPE, Wrong!” With a big bellow of laughter the trolls simultaneously said. Shea’ decided to answer next. “Are the doors the same?” she spoke with a soft voice. “WRONG AGAIN.” The trolls said together, hopping to their feet holding the hatchets, tapping the hilts on their hands. Dolyia thought to herself about the question. ~One lies and the other tells the truth…If one is a lier… Hmmm~ “What will the other troll say?” She said with confidence. Both trolls looked at each other, both with a confused but yet relieved it seemed. With a loud grunt the taller one said. “Thats right, you may all pass our bridge, But we ask a favor before you go.” The shorter troll looked at Dolyia. “We know you have fire powers we saw you practicing, could you light our torch for us to see at night and have cooked fish?.” He added. Dolyia looked at Jon, Jon nodded to her to do so. The taller troll handed her a torch stick that was laying next to the bridge and she lit it, then handed it back. “There you go, have a wonderful night you two.” Dolyia said to the trolls as the three of them started across the bridge. They got across and went through the next set of trees, this time it wasnt so eerie and dark. And it was a shorter path then the first. In only a few minutes they were through and on the other side of the trees, the path turned back into a larger road with pebbles of all colors all over the place. The sides of the road had bushes half as tall as Dolyia with pink and purple flower blooms everywhere. willow trees and animals, small ponds with frogs and lilly pads. It was prettier then the first road after Penne’.
