FLOWERSINHERHAIR

Sebastian’s POV If I say that I was able to close my eyes on the night after that dinner, it would be a lie. The way she smiled with her eyes, the joyous face and softness she had, even though Isa was very mean to her for the whole time, something told me that she probably wasn’t the problem. Her long black hair and her black eyes couldn’t get out of my head. For some reason, I thought that she had something I was lacking in Isa. No, no, no, Sebastian, you can't do this! You are more than this, remember? You can't fancy your wife’s sister, that is so wrong. But her eyes were like sapphires and her smile lit up the whole room, O Gabriella! What did you do to me? I started to think that it was because of too much wine I had earlier, so I decided to get up and go out for some fresh air. I stood on the balcony, and it was a great idea to do so. I stood there for a while and I started to hear the moan of an old swing in the garden. I looked closely. It was definitely moving, but I couldn’t see who was there. I got curious. I tried to look closely again, but I couldn’t see the gardener or anyone down there. I went to my safe, grabbed my gun and headed down silently. This is the life I have been living for years. I have been very careful about my security since I owned a fortune and people died trying to touch at least the tip of what I had. My grandfather and my great-grandfather had enemies before they even had my dad because of who they were, so security was a must in the Reyes family. I moved quietly through the moonlit garden, but then, through the roses and the shadows, I saw her. Gabriella, barefoot, in a silk robe that clung to her like a second skin. She sat sideways on the swing, one leg stretched out, the other bent beneath her, a beautiful hibiscus tangled in her wild dark hair, and the moon kissed her bare shoulder as if even it couldn’t resist. I thought I was hallucinating again. How? My breath caught in my throat. She hadn’t seen me yet. I should have left. I should’ve turned around and gone back inside to my wife but moved forward instead. She saw me. “Looking for something?” “ I thought someone was trespassing” I stammered. She smiles. “Maybe someone is.” Her eyes held me in place. The same shade as Isa’s, but where Isa’s were cold, Isa’s burned. She looked at me like she could see everything I was trying not to feel. And perhaps she could. “Why are you outside at this time?” She tilted her head, the hibiscus brushing against her cheek. “I couldn’t sleep” “I understand, but you could’ve stayed inside. It could be dangerous here.” “What could be dangerous here? It feels so good” In the blink of an eye, a rope jerked, her hand slipped, and time slowed. She tilted, legs rising in the air, hair flying like wildfire and I moved fast, blindly, instinctively I caught her mid-fall, her entire weight crashing against me, knocking the breath from my chest as we tumbled into the grass, my back hitting the earth hard, her body lying over mine For a moment, everything stopped. Her breath was in my throat, her chest pressed against mine. My hands on her bare thighs, gripping them for a fall. She didn’t move, neither did I. Things were going so fast, her eyes widened, I could feel every curve of her, my gun was already on the ground, surrendering like me, the silk of her robe caught between us, her skin warm and alive, trembling. My hands didn’t move, they were still holding her not to keep her from falling but to keep her. “You smell like roses and fire,” I said, her lips curved. In a flash, I felt her breath, her nose brushed against mine and her lips caressed mine. She put her hand in my beard and pressed herself hard against me. She gave me a deep passionate kiss, licked my lips while moaning quietly. Reality hit me back, and I realized that I was in my garden kissing the sister of my wife. I pushed her away, got on my feet, picked up my gun, and tried to put myself together. “I'm so sorry, I didn’t mean to…” “It’s alright, I think I need to leave,” I said in embarrassment. “Can I,” she said, trying to touch my hair. I stepped back. “I'm alright thanks, good night.” “Night.” I left the garden. I felt blinded by my sin. What if Isa saw us? Why did I do that? What if anyone saw us? Oh Sebastian, you messed up big time. I went back to my room. I watched Isa, sleeping peacefully. Blood ran in my whole body faster and my heart sank. I sat on bed, lay down in my quilt, and covered myself with shame. I'd let the devil win. I watched my wife sleeping peacefully. I didn’t deserve her. Maybe I shouldn’t have stopped her when she wanted her sister to leave, perhaps she knew what I didn’t.
