The Growing Thing grew a little more and squelched its way through the bushes near to a group of children who continued their game, blissfully unaware of its existence. The sun beat down mercilessly, as it is prone to do over Los Angeles in mid-August. The Growing Thing didn"t like the heat and took shelter whenever it could amidst the trees and bushes. It had discovered some shade in the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest, but opted to stay in Griffith Park where the food supply was a little more plentiful. And if there were one vice The Growing Thing could say it had succumbed to, it was greed.
