Adriana's POV
It had been six days since Xavier had taken me and to my surprise, my first impression of his home was not what I expected. I was driven into a luxurious mansion that boasted well tended gardens and his front porch was a huge parking lot that accommodated various super cars. He was indeed a man of wealth and had great taste.
That night I was taken out of the car and made to follow him through the front door into his house. The house was spacious and from the looks of it might as well have more than twenty different rooms. The interior was a theme of white and gold making me wonder how he was able to maintain the cleanliness of the house given his nature of business.
I was awed by the house that I had even stopped paying attention and at one point I bumped into someone. When I raised my eyes I found that it was Xavier himself who had come to a stop and was trying to tell me some house rules.
"You don't get to come into my room or roam around outside the house. Don't ever come into my private office. If you need me, make sure your requests are straight to the point, I don't have time to waste. Tomorrow morning you'll find your shopping at your doorstep. In case you need something from the kitchen, there's going to be a phone and you can call room service. Finally, there's going to be a guard posted at your door so try not to do anything you might regret. Remember, if you cause trouble here, your parents are the ones who are going to feel the effects. You're here for as long as they decide to stay with my money "
With this he ordered one of his men to take me to one of the rooms which was on the second floor of this three flooded house. When I walked in I was mesmerizing by the room.
I was greeted by a serene aura of luxury. The soft lighting reflected off the intricately designed wallpaper, setting a cozy tone. My eyes landed on the king-sized bed, inviting me to sink into its plush layers of silky sheets and pillows. Crafted from rich mahogany, it exuded elegance and refinement. Beside it, custom-built wardrobes that I wouldn't even dare hang my low class clothes.
Early the next morning, just as Xavier had said, I found a few shopping bags outside the door and in each one there were various expensive outfits and shoes. They ranged from heels, flat shoes, sneakers, dresses, some casual wears like sweatpants, hoodies and many more. In addition to this, there were several make up kits and accessories such as flat iron, a blow-dry and the like.
As much as I hated to admit it, with less than twenty four hours of spending my time with Xavier in his mansion, I got so my stuff as compared to the stuff that I had gotten in my whole life. For the past six days I hadn't met Xavier not once, the only people that I got aquatinted to were some of the house staff who always looked to be on edge with me and the bodyguards who changed shifts twice a day.
On the sixth day I couldn't help but wonder whether my parents had actually started looking for the money and if they had found the first payment that Xavier had asked for. I would've asked them myself except for the part where they took my phone meaning I had no communication with the outside world.
I knew I had to find Xavier and ask him myself and I wasn't going to take no for an answer from either his workers or the bodyguards. Knocking on my bedroom door, the guard who was active opened it and with a strained voice he asked,
"What?"
"I want to see Xavier," I demanded
" It doesn't work like that, " he responded with arrogance as he started to pull on the door ready to shut it.
"If you close that door I'll start screaming at the top of my lungs and won't stop until either Xavier comes to me or I'm taken to him. And seeing how tired you look, I'm sure you want to sit down and rest and not listen to me screaming non-stop," I threatened noticing the eye bags under his eyes. He seemed tired and I knew that would be his weakness.
"You don't get it. You don't just call Xavier and he comes like some lap dog or something. Xavier has to be the one calling you and if he hasn't in the past week then he has nothing to say to you," the guard responded, this time a bit more composed.
"I don't care. He dragged me out of my home and I'm his burden to bear. For now you can listen to me entertain your eardrums or you can call him and tell him that I want to talk to him. Your pick." I said as I crossed my hands together.
Just as I finished my statement, across the hall I saw Xavier making his way towards us. When the guard noticed him coming he stood at attention and went quiet. Xavier was taking long strides and was covering the distance between us quickly. He was dressed in a suit but he had taken the coat off so the shirt was hugging every inch of his body.
As much as I hated to say it, Xavier was probably sculpted by the gods. From his perfect jawline to his bulky muscles. His hair which was always held in a ponytail was long enough that it fell at his shoulders when dropped. Standing at 6'1 he stood above most people including me and even with his pearl white teeth that added grace to his dental formula, he was to die for in the eyes of many. His ocean blue eyes were both deadly and seductive. His captivating gaze held a hint of mystery, drawing others in with his cool allure and endless charm.
When he got to the door, he acted as if he had not ghosted his unwilling hostage for about a week without a word.
"Have you heard --" before I could even finish my statement he cut me off,
"Find a decent dress, in one hour be ready for you are going to meet my grandfather," he said with a tone of finality before turning around and leaving me standing there confused.
