Synthia’s POV
We were shouting at each other one moment, and the next, Elijah was lunging at me. I was so startled by his sudden attack that it took me a moment to realize that he had clutched my necklace. It was too late by the time I tried to pull him off because he had already pulled off the necklace by then, leaving a stinging pain in my neck. I stared at the necklace wide eyed as he held it in front of him with a look of wonder in his eyes.
“After twenty-one years, I finally got it…” he declared proudly.
I made a move to snatch it back from him, but he was way quicker than me. He took the necklace out of my reach and secured it in his pocket before clicking his tongue at me in disapproval.
