8 years later.....
Eva's POV.
Coming back yet again after spending the whole day at work, which was actually one of the most frustrating things I could think of as I made to unlock the door to my apartment. I tried out some keys not minding if it was the right one or not.
Finally getting hold of the knob, I immediately skittered to the restroom to do my business there, after which I went to the kitchen to get myself something to eat.
Done with playing choosy-choosy, I finally settled for a bowl of Lasagna which has always been my goto at times like this.
As I sat my self to a movie which I've seen for like a hundredth time, I cast my mind back to the not so good events of the week and how awful they've been so far. I could not in a littlest bit believe or imagine that David would be a pain in my ass.
All he ever wanted from me was to just get intimate with me before he could let me rise in the company.
"Who does that?" I would always ask, oblivious of how rhetorical my question was.
Now twenty six years old, with a bachelor and master's degree in business administration from Howard University. My adoptive father, whom I met after my tragic past in Drem town proposed I leave my current job to come work with him at his company.
Mr. Bello my adoptive father had a son who was about two years older than me. He wanted him to take over as he planned on stepping down from office as the managing director. But his Daniel; his son wasn't in any way interested in his father's joint company.
So on hearing that Daniel had a change of mind, it propelled him into acting fast before Lucas his partner who was rumored to be Mafia in Cartel succeeded in buying the whole shares in the company thereby automatically making him the new MD.
Hell was bound to break loose if Dad's plan didn't work, which he believed to be so well schemed didn't go as planned. From time immemorial, the competition for the post of managing director was always a tough one.
So even if it meant eliminating the dreaded Lucas, he was damn cut out for it.
My life was not complete without taking out my revenge. I had failed relationships, which was actually the least of problems; I considered my self never lucky in that aspect. Most of the men I've had anything to do with were only attracted to me by my curvy future or how good looking and pretty a young lady I was.
Only if my mum could see how grown her daughter already was. Only if she could feel that warmth she once felt ten years ago. Thinking of this yet again made me teary.
Tomorrow would be a long day with dad. "I just can't wait to put my degree to use", I thought aloud.

Daniel's POV
You know that cheesy funny feeling you get when you are so anxious about getting back home after a while away.
Yes! That's exactly how I feel right now. I was finally going to see Eva again. My adoptive sister whom I had grown to love. A crush or a brotherly love? I was still confused.
My time spent in the military was totally worth it. Being the highest ranking officer, I was said to be what people called swift, hardworking, dedicated, smart witty and all knickknackery.
I came to the airforce academy thinking that, it would be my final stop at my career, but it seemed as though nature was finding a way to make things go haywire. I earnestly wished for happiness on the QT, but the question was,"what was stopping me? Or was there something I wasn't getting right?"
I was to resume my dad's company tomorrow as the pending MD. I've got to put some many things in order and that reminds me, I seriously need a change of closet.
"Darn it! I need a to-do listen, Asap" I yelled out loud, while dialling McAnthony's number. He answered almost immediately on the first ring with a "Hey Man! Howdy?" With his Australian accent at its peak.
"I really need your help right now" I said without waiting reply his greetings.
Mc has always been that very cool and smart friend of mine. I've known for over twenty years now and still counting.
Y'all know how most best friends meet for the first time and how cliché the story could be. Well, mine was just a totally different scenario all together.
My first time of meeting Mc was during the night fest company's party which was held by my Father's joint company, and I was two years then. We were the only children present. That day was also the day my mum ran away from home. I couldn't exactly remember the reason, because it was such along time. But after becoming friends with MC, it in a way helped me get a tad bit over my mum.
"Man, are you still there?" I could here MC's voice hovering in between my spaces out self.
"Yeah, I've gotta go, just do as we've talked. I would be having a long day at work. Bye for now" I said, while turning off my phone.

Eva's POV
"Omg! It's past eight already, I'm going to be late for the meeting. What a wonderful way to start a day" I panicked feeling frustrated that I had already started off my day on the wrong foot.
Face palming myself, I tried pulled my s**t together.
"No matter what, I'm going to show up today" I said to myself rather assuringly.
Before anyone could scream Jack Robinson, I rushed into the bathroom and it didn't take my a while before I was out again. I was planning on having my breakfast, but taking a second glance at my wristwatch was enough shocker to make me forget about the whole idea of food.
Deserting my food which I just bought out from the microwave, is actually something I wouldn't have done on a normal day. I shut the door and taking a deep breath, I accept that there would never enough time for a relaxed breakfast.
At exactly nine thirty in the morning, I got into my car fully aware of the long drive ahead. I usually like driving on the highway more than in the city, especially during the morning rush hour. Though, it's not very enjoyable.
I usually like driving on the highway more than in the city, especially uring morning rush hour though it's not enjoyable. The heavy traffic is a little bit annoying, so I always listen o my favorite classical music CDs in the car- Chopin, Mozart, and Bach. They cheer me up alot.
As expected, I met the traffic jam today. While waiting for the traffic jam to ease out, I tune in to the radio. The reporter started with thick Strayan accent.
"I was right all along, she is Australian" I muttered under my breath.
