Chapter 12When Elis woke up, he was alone. He’d woken alone nearly every day of his life, but it came as a shock how disappointed he was Latham wasn’t there when he opened his eyes. It was a strange sensation. Loneliness churned in his gut. He chided himself. He was a grown man and didn’t need someone at his side.
