14 “We have some time, and I need to talk with you. Privately,” Kai said to Peyton. She nodded, then placed her hand in his when he offered it. She followed him into his bedroom. Not sure what to expect since the rest of the loft had bold masculinity and easy simplicity, her eyes widened a little at the lush furnishings. The bed, lifted up on a platform and draped in a black satin duvet, matched the padded headboard attached to the wall. The dresser, a rich red, either in stain or because the wood was naturally that color, held six drawers. On the hardwood floor lay a thick rug in black, red, and midnight blue.
