5 This time, Kai signaled to turn left. A half mile down a gravel road led them to a gravel-covered sand parking lot. The city, during one of its improvement stages, cleared an area above the high-water mark, added a few walking trails with informational signs pointing out vegetation and landmarks in the area, some benches for watching the boats float by, and a building that housed public restrooms and a snack bar.
