Ellie’s POV
“Come on,” Sam yelled at me. She has been staying with me for over a month now. She has come along leaps and bounds, gaining weight and confidence. Other than the scars and the nightmares, you would think nothing had happened to her. She has been working with me at the clinic every day, performing remedial tasks. But she is happy to do it, and I am glad to let her. We have grown close, as have our wolves. I want to say she is my friend, but Sam doesn’t like that word, which I can understand.
The one thing I have noticed about Sam is her love for the young, no matter the form. She especially loves it when a child brings a puppy into the clinic; it brings something out in her that I wish I could see every minute of every day. It will explain why she tried to save Jessi
