I initially thought Sam had lost her mind when I saw her running towards me naked, with her arms waving around and yelling. That was until she got close enough for me to hear her words. “There’s a badly injured shifter in the woods. Ellie, he’s in a bad way.”
Although my gift can help calm an animal. If he is in such a bad way, it’s the tools of my trade that may be needed to save his life. I ran back to Bessie for my emergency bag. It doesn’t have much in it, but it has the essentials. Usually, I can do a quick patch job and then get them back to my clinic, where there is everything I need. This bag has helped me save quite a few animals over the years, and it’s the very reason I always keep it at hand.
