When Xavier told me about the lies Axel had told everyone, I felt sick. It hurt that people believed them. He spun a tale where Garth and I were the villains, and he was the innocent victim of betrayal. That will be why no one questioned why Gunner killed Garth so horribly.
Knowing Axel was still after me made me angry; then again, everything about the man’s actions made me angry. I doubt Axel would attempt anything, not while I am here representing the Alpha King. Not while I’m under the protection of Reagan, Phillip, and Xavier. It was Lily I had more concerns about. She was cunning and manipulative, capable of anything. Even murder.
