Chapter 2

HUNTERS POV “Remember what I said son, take it easy on Abby no matter what she always has a job with us” my father said sternly “ why does this girl matter to you so much” I asked accusingly I wonder if she’s his recent gold digger that’s the only problem with me and my father we love the idea of a relationship but once you have been branded billionaires it’s not so easy to see the gold diggers from the real thing . “ because I have a lot of respect for her. She has a lot to deal with and that’s all I’m saying. If she wants you to know she will tell you” before I can reply he adds “ow and son if she says she needs to go, believe there is a good a reason that she does, she’s good at her job she will make sure what needs to be done gets done so don’t worry about that” not wanting to argue over it anymore “fine dad” and we both said our goodbyes. There was a light knock at the door “ENTER” I said loud enough for who ever it was to hear. The door opened slowly and in walked who I presume is Abby my assistant holding a cup of coffee “hi mr black I’m Abby. your assistant. I brought your coffee” I took in the sight of her trying to see what my father saw her. Her voice was flat, wearing all black clothes that were baggy on her Jesus was she going to a funeral so plain and boring. Her dark hair looked like it could be long but it was wrapped up in a tight bun, she wore no makeup at all and her skin was pale, has this girl never heard of the sun or tanning beds then I looked into her dark eyes they looked completely dead no life in them what so ever. Just looking at her bored me. “Did I ask you to get me a coffee?” I said annoyed. I get my own coffee I don’t need a servant. “ sorry I used get your father his morning coffee” her voice was flat she showed no emotion to the way I just snapped at her “well I’m not my father please don’t forget that. I am capable of getting my own damn coffee” I said even sterner. Still nothing no emotion she stood their and accepted it, no talk back, no trying to apologise. People are usually scared of me but not Abby she just stood there looking at me with them lifeless dark eyes. I couldn’t bare to look at her anymore “just don’t bring me coffee I’ll do that myself you are here to work, not to babysit me. Right just go do what you need to do but just email me my schedule for this week and let me know if any thing changes” she nodded and was straight out the door. I couldn’t help myself. I checked her out on social media I wanted know if there was something more to this boring lifeless girl that was stood in front of me. She’d not posted much in last couple of years just a couple of photos of who I’m guessing is her son it says she’s in a relationship but nothing else to back it up there’s no pictures of her with man. I look further down the time line going back over 6 years ago there’s loads of pictures of her I can only just tell that it’s her she looked completely different. So happy and her her dark eyes almost sparkled with life and that smile wow, I found my self smiling back at the photo. I wonder what happened to make her change so drastically. I don’t even know why I’m so Interested in her but the need to find out why she’s changed is overwhelming . There most be something that’s happened for my father to take such an interested and protective stance for her. I just have to know what happened to that happy beautiful girl to make the emotionless women who stood in front of me today.
