Before marriage

Anna's pov. “Dad! Mom! Meet Adam and his sister Emma,” I introduced Adam to my parents. “Good evening, sir, ma’am,” Adam took the initiative and offered his hand to my dad. My dad held his hand and pulled him into a hug. “Hello, young man! How are you?” My dad said cheerily. “I am good, sir. Thank you. How are you doing, sir?” Adams replied, and I could feel he was nervous as he met my dad for the first time. My dad grinned at him. “I like him,” my dad turned towards me and said. “Oh, dad! Thank you,” I hugged him. I was so happy. He approved of Adam, and now I didn't have to worry. “Make yourself comfortable, Adam. You always have to take care of my daughter. Don't ever make her cry. Otherwise, I will come for you,” My dad squeezed Adam's shoulder when he warned him. “Dad, please,” I squealed. “Alright, alright. Welcome to the family, Adam,” my dad chuckled. Adam smiled. “Thank you, sir.” I took him to meet uncle Salvo and aunt Valentina. They were also impressed with him. I felt a pair of eyes keep following me everywhere, making me burn with heat in them all the time. Was someone jealous? I laughed at thinking about how someone would be jealous of me. Why would someone be jealous of me? I excused myself to go and freshen up. I headed towards the ladies' room. I walked through a corridor that was slightly dimly lit and almost vacant. I opened the door of the ladies' room, and it was also empty. Just as I was about to close the door, a hand appeared, pushed on it, and stopped me from closing the door. Adam was standing there, having a naughty smirk on his face. He pushed me slightly and came inside, closing the door behind him. “What are you doing, Adam? This is a ladies' room. Someone would come and make a scene,” I panicked when I thought about someone coming and finding the door locked. “Come on, Anna. You are my fiancee, and we are doing nothing wrong. You need not be afraid of anyone. Please forget everything and let yourself be lost in this moment,” he said and came closer, gripping my waist and pulling me on his chest. I gasped, “what the hell are you doing, Adam? I have told you I am not comfortable doing this before marriage. You know I have had a complicated past. I am still overcoming my nightmare.” I tried to push him away, but he was too strong, and his grip on my waist tightened as he pulled me further closer. “Oh, babe! Now your family has also approved of me. I can't wait for any more, sweetheart. You look so gorgeous in this dress. Let me kiss you, babe,” he whispered, leaning down on my face. I stopped him by covering his mouth with my palm. “No, Adam. Please give me some more time. Please wait until we are married. You know I have a trust issue. I have told you everything. I promise I will give myself completely to you after our wedding. Please wait for a few more days, honey,” I tried to convince him. I knew I was not doing anything good to him. He was my fiance, and he had the right to kiss me. It was usual for couples who were courting. But it was not easy for me. He was very patient. He waited for a whole year and did not complain. If there were another man, he would have left now. He was persistent and kept trying to convince me so that I could give myself to him. I thought he truly loved me. But I couldn't do it easily after I was heartbroken. I couldn't trust enough to give my body to a man. I found it very difficult to trust men after my experience with the first man in my life. I agreed to marry Adam because he was very patient. He had no problem waiting until we got married. But now, a few days after we were engaged, he had become impatient. Maybe this was an impulse of us getting married in 2 months, and perhaps it was fair to ask for a kiss. Yes, I was twenty-five and a virgin. I hadn't even been kissed. I knew it was next to impossible to believe. But I was really afraid of giving myself to a man. I had loved only one man in my whole life. If I was fair, I would marry Adam, but I still could not love him despite wanting to. I trusted him and cared for him, but not enough to give myself to him, not before our wedding. Maybe after the wedding, I would have a commitment of security when we were tied in the holy knot of the marriage for eternity in front of God. He sighed and loosened his grip on my waist. He put some distance between us. “Ok, babe, I can wait for two more months. But remember I will not wait for a second after the wedding and I won't listen to any excuses. You will be mine. Don't you forget that,” he threatened me sweetly, flicking my nose with his finger. I giggled, “I know, and I won't stop you after our wedding. I gave you my word.” He smiled and shook his head. “I am waiting for you at the party. Come soon.” He said and left. I took a deep breath to calm myself. I was literally panicked when Adam came in and demanded a kiss. I thought he would be annoyed. But he was very sweet and understanding. I washed my face and gave my make-up a touch-up. I smoothened my hair and gave myself a once-over. After being sure that I looked fine, I left the ladies' room. As soon as I opened the door and stepped outside, I collided with a rock-hard body. I was about to fall, but a pair of muscular, strong arms held me. “Ah... I am sorry…” I said and looked up to find Matteo was looking down at me. His eyes were red, and his nose flared. He was breathing heavily as if he was angry. What the hell was he doing in front of the ladies' room? Before I could react, he dragged me to a corner and pinned me to the wall.
