Hunter's Mate: Chapter 2

Raven felt the hair on her body rise as a chill ran down her spine. Swallowing hard Raven turned slowly to face him her heart beat increasing rapidly there! Those eyes they were there again staring down at her, that hypnotic gaze that held her.Raven could feel herself trembling just at his mere gaze a mixture of fear and excitement.

"Why are you following me?" He asked as he took a step towards her

"I.. I'm sorry I thought you were someone else" replied Raven trying to act brave, without hesitation, Raven turned to leave 'maybe this was a bad idea'

"I know you " He said from behind her making her stop before she even took another step.

'Interesting' "Really so you remember?" Asked Raven as she turned back to face him gathering a bit of courage although she was still trembling.

" Of course I do"He replied. "Your face is very hard to forget."

Raven didn't know what he meant by that but she wasn't going to take any chances."Can I ask you something?" Asked Raven going straight to the point.

"Go on"He replied folding his arms across his chest as he looked at her.

"Can you tell me what really happened at that bar in Sevinse? I know . were there"said Raven.

"Well just some couple issues that didn't concern me so I left" He replied

"Hmm I see" said Raven as she nodded her head.

"Is there anything else because I will really like to get going now. You see I have somewhere urgent to be right now" He said putting his hands in his pockets.

There! By that movement Raven noticed it.It was under his jacket, its golden handle shone In the evening light.

" One more thing" replied Raven "Did you know a sweater was found in the bar and it had blood on it?" Asked Raven looking at him intensely but it seemed the question she had just asked didn't seem to move him.Most of the movies she had watched and based on experience the culprit would be shaking by now, but his body language could hardly tell a thing.He just stood there staring at her.

"Well that's new are you a police detective or something?" He asked with a dry laugh, " And even if you were, blood could mean anything not only murder and besides what does that have to do with me?"

"Because I know it was you" replied Raven moving closer to him.

"Then if you're so convinced why don't you call the cops right now? He asked

"Because I need proof" Raven replied.

Blade watched the woman in front of him, everything about her seemed to remind him of Zofia , but she was just another random dopple ganger. Druna had said Zofia would be reincarnated again but there had been so many reincarnations it was hard to tell which was her.But something about this woman in front of him stirred exciting emotions within him, he couldn't help but admire her courage with which she spoke to him even though she was trembling a bit.Of all the dopple gangers he had come across this one seemed to fascinate him. Even if she was not Zofia he would like to try his luck with her.

Just then she moved close to him, so close he could smell her perfume. She smelled so good!The closeness of her body to his made his blood boil. He couldn't help but admire her big brown eyes with thick black lashes and her soft pink lips, everything about her screamed Zofia. She came so close as if she was giving him a hug and in a split second she took it! She took his sword from beneath his jacket even though it looked like an ordinary knife to her.

"Then what is this?" She asked as she removed it from it's sheath and held the it close to his face ,as the sword shone in the beams of the setting sun illuminating her face as she looked at him, she looked beautiful...

"This should be enough proof"She said

Raven looked at the knife she held the golden handle shone on her face in the dim sunlight of the evening which was kind of what she was expecting. She looked at him her heart beating as he stared at her. She could hear his rhythmic breathing as his chest heaved up and down,she wanted to put her hand on it bit she knew that would be inappropriate and right now she had more appropriate things to do than having lustful thoughts.

"Hey be careful you might hurt yourself with that"He said as he snatched the knife from her which immediately turned to a sword in his hand as if it had some kind of transform button. Raven gasped with fear and shock moving back quickly.Her startled movement was so quick she tripped on her own toes and made a fall backward, but in a flash before she could even blink He came forward and held her grabbing her by the waist with one hand and the sword with the other his eyes glistening like the gold on his sword. Sparks! Raven felt some kind of spark ignite in her by his touch this made her tremble even more,he then pulled her to his chest so she could stand properly making her hand touch his chest 'it was a hard as a wall!'

Back on her feet Raven pulled back as fast as she could this time more carefully so she didn't have to trip again.

"Didn't you learn never to play with sharp objects?" He asked mockingly as he returned the sword into its sheath and flicking it so it became a little knife again. Geez! You would have hurt yourself." He said

" You still haven't answered my question"replied Raven ignoring what he just said.

" If you want to know"He said " You'll have to catch me first.Meet me tomorrow by the Senna Route bus stop by 10pm"

"Fine then" replied Raven "You're on"

"But remember you'll have to catch me first" He said with a smirk as he came to her side.

" And come alone"He whispered in her ear as he walked away.

Raven stood frozen there for a minute as she watched him leave many thoughts running through her mind.She had no idea who he was but this was going to be more than a school project.

Raven arrived to see Casper waiting in front of her apartment he was sitting at the door step all dressed up wearing a black tuxedo. Raven could tell he had been waiting. She wondered why anyone would go through that stress.

"Hey Raven you're back" Casper said standing up as soon he saw her.

"Hi Casper" replied Raven as she looked at him from top to bottom." You look... Great"

"And you look.."

"Shabby"said Raven cutting him off "I know I had such a hectic day and I'm really tired." She added

"Yea I know you are thats why I have already cancelled the date" replied Casper

"Oh Casper I'm so sorry"said Raven

"It's okay Raven we can always do it another time. I just wanted to wait for you to get home to make sure you're safe"replied Casper

"Thanks Casper"said Raven giving him a brief hug

"And by the way I wanted to say you look radiant you're face is glowing" He said as they broke from the hug

"Good night Rave see you tomorrow"He added as he gave her a kiss on the cheek and left.

Glowing! Raven rushed inside to see her face. What did he mean by glowing?!

Raven faced her bathroom mirror she was really glowing! Her face still shone with little beams of gold. It had to be from his sword, Raven tried using her hands to clean her face but it was still there. She rinsed her face with soap and water at the sink but looking at her face in the mirror it was still there. Ugh! Her face was still glowing.

"Well maybe it's a good thing" she said to her self as she walked out of the bathroom.

All she wanted now was to rest she already had a long day and a glowing face was the least of her problems.

Her mind went back to him she didn't know what cat and mouse game he was playing but all she knew was her suspicions were right and she was going to get to the bottom of it.

Damon sat in the car thinking as his mind drifting away to the happy moments he had once shared with his so called brother now he felt nothing but resentment towards Blade especially after he had chosen that darn! woman over him and sending him to one thousand years of unconciousness.Now he wanted nothing but to see Blade suffer especially now that his long awaited love had been reincarnated, he would make sure she didn't live her full life this time either. He knew exactly where Blade would be by this time of course he would be lazying his time in some eatery eating icecream.

"Rami pull over"said Damon as he took his phone out when the car had come to a stop.Through the window Damon could see Blade seated in front of a small cup of icecream, without hesitation he dialled the number.

Blade sat down to enjoy his cup of icecream, it Jade been a long day especially with the recent happening that evening. Everything played all over in his mind everything about her reminded him of Zofia the first and only woman he had fallen in love with. Over the years he had seen many dopple gangers of her but none of them seemed to strike him like her, touching her made him feel so... Just then his phone rang an unknown number was calling.

"Hello" said Blade as he picked up the call

"Hello brother" replied the voice at the other end. Blade held his breath for a moment it was him. Damon!

Damon smiled to himself he could see the tension in his brother as he looked out the car window.

"Did you miss me?" Damon asked with a dry laugh.

"I see you finally woke up from hibernation"replied Blade

"Of course" said Damon " my thirst for revenge woke me up."

"Oh I see"replied Blade "for once at least I see you have a goal in life."

"Yes" said Damon mockingly "and you're the main aim" he added.

Blade gave a dry laugh over the phone " I was wrong you are still the same."He said " you should know by now that you can never beat me at anything" Blade said.

"It's that why you have been killing innocent people?"asked Blade

"Ha! Innocent you say"replied Damon." I was just devouring some little prey" said Damon

"Times have changed Damon nobody hunts these days if you need meat go to a butcher's shop stop being outdated"replied Blade.

Damon squeezed his anger as he held the phone.Blade had not changed he was still the arrogant brat that he was." You also haven't changed replied Damon "You're still the arrogant brat that you are. Well lets see if you will be laughing for long. I heard you're woman is back"said Damon. "And with me around she wont be living her full life this time either, enjoy you're icecream brother" he added as he ended the call. Damon could see the confused look on his brother's face this was just the beginning.

"Lets go Rami" he said smiling with contentment in his face as the car sped off.Now all he had to do was put phase one of his plan into action

Blade looked around the eatery but there was no sign of Damon, he had to be Here somewhere even if he wore a camouflage.

"His woman!" Blade whispered to his self. Was Damon referring to her if it was then he had to act fast, he could not let an innocent woman suffer for something she knew nothing about.Damon might be stupid but he never gave empty threats he had to do something fast and the only way was to capture him and take him to Druna as soon as possible.
