The next day at the White Flame pack training ground.
The final competition started. The 20 who made it from last round would fight an epic battle in wolf forms. Many were excited to watch.
Mira wore loose trousers and a tank top with jean jacket. Her hair was held in placed by a red hairband. She had no make-up on. Seeing her, Williams nearly drooled.
"Are you not ashamed?" she scolded and held his right ear.
"Ow! I'm wrong. I'm wrong. Husband will behave." he feigned being in pain and she smiled.
"Good then!" she sat on his laps and he fed her straw berries.
"Yummy! Very sweet." she praised.
"Yeah but not as sweet as you." he whispered into her ear causing her to blush.
"Bad man!" she pouted.
"Hehe! I can assume any role to please you, dear."
The bell rung at that moment. It was Bruce who rang the bell. This insensitive couple made them drink vinegar everyday and remind them of being mateless. So evil! Hence, he deliberately rang the bell loudly, disturbing their fun moment.
"Oh it's time?' Williams then stated the rules for the competition and the reward of the top 3 winners.
When he was done, the competition started.
A chosen pair would enter the ring and shift right on the spot and then fight like it was their last hope to survive. Each were fierce and many watched with interest.
Soon, the second round began with only 10 people left.
They were allowed just five minutes to rest and returned to the ring again to fight in two groups (i.e 5v5)
This was much tougher as the winner would emerge from this battle.
In this battle, being thrown outta the ring did not count. Even if you fell out 100 times, as long as you can get back in the ring to fight, you are back on game.
Four hours later, the battle came to an end with only three standing upright and another two barely standing.
One of the wolves-a golden female wolf, got the reward for the main winner and the others also got their rewards. They were now proud pack warriors!
They were all taken to the pack doctor to get treatment while the others cheered them.on.
Williams told the ones who failed to work harder to join next year. Then he uncorked an expensive bottle of wine and poured it on himself
"Let's celebrate, people!"
*******
On that night, Williams received an invitation from the 3rd vampire king, Tris Luka who lived a month's journey away from the white flame pack. One can't take a plane or car to the place. Only feet was accepted.
Williams was puzzled. Why would this person invite him? Was it because of the powerful mage? Vampires are creatures of the night as sun wasn't good for them. And this Tris even wanted him to bring his Luna?
What for?
He returned to his matrimonial room and lay on the king-sized bed. Mira who was asleep sensed his presence and woke up.
"Husband, what's troubling you? Why can't you enjoy your sleep? Did someone provoke you?" she asked in concern.
"You see, the third strongest vampire king wishes to see me."Williams said with a sigh
"He's bit going to harm you, right? Or is he curious about that mage who said he'll protect this pack?" she asked.
"I honestly don't know, sweetheart. But whatever it is, I have to go. You see, why I'm distressed is because he requested to see you too." Williams said in distress.
"Baby boy" Mira caressed his hair and kisses his earlobe causing them to turn red. "It's not a bad thing necessarily to accompany you there. Let's say I also wanna travel too. Besides, I have you to protect me if I can't defeat an enemy right?" she asked, placing her hands on his chest.
"Calm down! It will be over before you know it." she comforted him.
"Um... Thanks for being so supportive. I love you." he hugged her and they retired to La-la land.
The next morning, Mira went out for a morning run with Verlice in the woods. She loved the thrill of passing by those tall, gigantic trees in the forest. It was incomparable. She hugged Verlice tightly as they sped up.
"Move faster, dear! Go, go, go, go!" she yelled earnestly. Her hair fluttered with the wind.
Soon, they stopped in front of a tree. It was an oak tree and seemed to be the oldest in the environ yet was still blossoming.
"Verlice, that was great. Thank you!" Mira said as she alighted from his back and caressed his soft, silky blue fur. He smelt really nice, she wanted to breathe his scent in all day.
Verlice nodded and crouched down to rest. Mira sat beside him.
"You worked hard. You know I kind of wish we were able to telepath just like the others. I really want to talk to you about some stuff. Sigh! I shouldn't be too greedy." she said.
"Mira, can you hear me?"
She heard a voice say. It sounded familiar; like Williams voice.
"Williams, is that you?" she asked skeptically in her mind.
"Wow! It really works. Yeah it's me. It's so amazing to be able to telepath to you. Since I can, then it means Verlice can."
"Ooh! Verlice, can I hear your voice please?" she pleaded, blinking her eyes at the wolf.
It looked away like it didn;t want to talk to her but his ears gave him out.
"You're blushing, Verlice!" she said out loud but it didn't turn to face her.
"Guess I have to use my trump card then." she giggled, her eyes formed two crescent moons.
"Don't tickle me. I hate that!" Mira hear another male voice. It was deep and husky.
"Haha, Verlice I finally hear your voice. It's so good." she hugged the wolf.
"You're choking me."
"Verlice, how can you say that?" Mira pouted.
"He may seem fierce but very shy."
Mira heard Williams voice again and giggled.
"To think these beautiful voices belong to me alone... I'm the luckiest lady." she said.
"Um... I think Verlice wants to go back in."
"Oh. Shift then. Besides, I already miss your body. Hehehe!" she laughed.
She watched as the wolf stood and started changing back into Williams.
The first time she watched him transform, she pretended to be scared silly and 'fainted' for some hours. It's been five years and she viewed it as normal now. After all, she witnesses pack warriors shift often.
When the transformation was complete, all that was left was Williams wearing his birthday suit.
"Here, have this." she gave him the scarf she tied around her waist earlier before he took her out on a run.
"I don't need this, honey." he complained.
"I know but you are mine. How can I let someone else see you like this?"she tied the scarf around his waist since he was unwilling.
"Don't worry, I'll make your favorite candy when we get home." she consoled in amusement.
"Okay!"
They both sat down again and Williams touched the oak tree's bark.
"Honey, do you remember this was where we first met?" he asked.
"Yeah. I recall." she replied with a smile.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
It was afternoon. Mira didn't know how she appeared in the forest. Maybe her new found mage powers were working without her permission. She was a nature mage who could vanish at will. She still needs to work on her powers before she ends up hurting somebody.
She started walking from that part of the forest, using the plants as her guidance. She was so immersed that she didn't see there was a huge opython in front of her, ready to strike. When she saw it, she got very scared and turned back they way she came.
She ran blindly and yet the python didn't lose her.
She hit a tree and fell. The snake had reached her preparing to begin its strangling when a blue wolf came out of the high shrubs.
The snake immediately fled.
She looked on in shock. She... that python had left and now she had to face a wolf? How bad was her luck?
The wolf walked around her, sniffing then it crouched down beside her.
She was scared outta her wits. A big bad wolf was sitting beside her with it's tongue hanging out. From her point of view, this wolf must want to stare at her well before eating her up. Sigh! This is too much.
She wanted to get up and escape but this wolf''s hand was on her leg. How would she even leave? Her luck was tough...very tough!
She just stared at the hand of the wolf and then slowly brought her head to look at the wolf, hoping that it was a very kind one. But when she stared at it, it growled.
She immediately looked down. Tears wanted to flow but she held them down.
"Someone, please come save me!" she prayed in her heart.
Suddenly, the wolf stood up and walked around her again. This time, she decided to take a bet and started running while crying for help.
Instead, she saw 6 more wolves heading her way.
She turned around and saw the blue wolf coming over; it was limping though.
The wolf was injured? Then were these 6 wolves its family? Had they come to take him home? But look at the stares that they are giving her. Like she was the one who hurt the blue wolf and wanted to escape. For heaven's sake,s he hadn't even seen it before in her entire life.
AWOO!
They howled and ran towards her.
She ran back towards the wolf and diverted when she was almost close to it. She climbed a tree and threw the fruits at them.
"Go away! Go away! Gert lost, animals." she wanted to cry.
GRRR!
The 6 wolves growled and one of them surprised her by jumping straight to the spot she hid in the tree. Started, she fell down from the tree.
Subconsciously, she wanted to use her mage powers but she felt strong arms carry her.
"Eh? Whose arms are these?" she thought as she glanced at the arms carrying her up to the chest.
She raised her head and saw a very handsome face looking back at her. She forgot that there were wolves around. She felt secure. She felt the sparks of the mate bond. This was her second chance mate. It was surprising and she could be considered lucky but what if he rejects her like her first mate did?
"Who are you?" she asked.
"I'm Williams.... Williams Reynolds.
The man introduced himself.
"I'm Mira." she managed to speak.
"You are my destined wife, my dear. I know it may sound weird and stupid but you are my soulmate. I always wanted to meet you. You look even better than I imagined." he said.
"I'm not your wife. Put me down." she demanded and he easily obeyed. Getting a full view of him, she screamed and turned around.
"You pervert! How can you move about in your birthday suit?" she asked unhappily.
"Well, I'm used to it. Besides, it's a forest and my home. I'm not afraid of anything." he said.
She started to walk away but he surprisingly appeared in front of her with superspeed.
"You... Ahhh" she turned around again only to see six wolves staring at her 10 feet away.
"Ahhh help me!" she ran into his embrace.
"Save me! They'll bite me, Mr Williams!" she wanted to cry.
