Chapter 10 : The True Bloodline

Selam's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean, you'll tell me?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.Her head was still hurting.Kofi's eyes held hers, his gaze intense. "I mean, I'll tell you everything, Selam. But you have to promise me you won't freak out, no matter what."

Selam nodded,Kofi took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving hers. "My family, Selam...we're werewolves. Werewolves have been protecting your bloodline for generations.Your parents were Lycan royalty and had been forced by a sabotage to live a mundane life.The Order had a leak and the enemy found your parents but fortunately they knew nothing about you."

Selam's mind reeled. Werewolves, Lycan and royalty. It was like a scene straight out of a movie.She just stared at him clueless as to what to say.Tatu nodded, his expression serious. "Kofi's telling the truth, Selam. His family has been guarding the Lycan bloodline for centuries.He is of an Alpha to the Ethiopian werewolves tribe.All the world's tribes are grouped into Continents.Each continent has a royal family.Your father was the King and you were an only child."

Selam asked,"What does this whole thing have to do with me?" her voice shaking."I am sure you are all mistaken.I am a human and a normal human,"she argued.

Kofi sighed. " Selam,you're the last of the Lycan bloodline in our continent. The one they've been searching for.You are also my second chance mate.I felt the mate bond the day I rescued you from the fire.We are meant for each other.I wanted to claim you but you were young and your grandmother said I should not since you were still a child"

Selam chuckled,"that is very funny how old are you?How does my grandmother know you? Please don't tell me I am supposed to mate with you,"she said.She was in denial, logically it was impossible because she had relatives according to her grandmother and even though she had never met them, that was because they hated her.She doubted them and couldn't accept that her grandmother might have lied to her but as she looked at Kofi, she saw the truth in his eyes. She believed him.

Loki, sensing her unease, nudged her hand with his nose. Selam smiled, feeling a sense of calm.",I am okay Loki, don't worry boy,"she said gently petting her dog's fur. A howl echoed through the night, making Selam's heart skip a beat.

Tatu's eyes narrowed. "We need to move. Now."

Kofi grabbed Selam's hand, and they took off, running through the dark forest.Tatu took the car and Selam's things.He was going back to Kofi's place.The howling grew louder, closer.The howling was more like a call and not a threat but they had to be safe.

They burst into a clearing near the creak that was by her apartment .Selam saw a group of people waiting for them. She hid behind Kofi when he stopped.He whispered to her that it was The Order of the Lycans.The Order was like an army of the king whose sole purpose was to protect the monarch.A woman wearing a silver dress that belonged to the 18th century stepped forward, her eyes warm. "Welcome, Selam. We've been waiting for you."

The woman smiled. "My name is Ariana. We'll explain everything, Selam but first, we need to get you to the palace or what you may know as the Great Gebbi.It is safer to talk there than in this clearing my princess"Selam agreed and they were escorted to some SUVs.Ariana got into the same vehicle with them.

Selam thought about how the lady could betray him and wanted to share her doubts with her mate."Pardon my manners but I shan't not help it but ask.My princess have ye found thy mate?"Ariana asked with an accent.Selam really wanted to ask on the accent but she feared it might be rude so instead she nodded."Brilliant,I presume thy mate is thy knight who hast accompanied you?Does my accent bother you.I can tone it down.When I am excited my Yorkshire roots stick out,"Ariana said.

Selam laughed nervously wondering if she had spoken out loud."You did not speak loudly ,I read your mind but not to worry I will teach you how to guard your mind or your mate will have the honor,"Ariana said smiling."Are you also a werewolf?Kofi is my mate ,"Selam responded.Ariana chuckled," sweet child I am a priestess of the moon goddess.I have been her vessel for four centuries.You will meet the high priestess Alessia and do not ask her age but I can tell you she's very old,"Selam sent a smile to Ariana's say and both fell silent.

When they got to the Palace, Selam could not help but admire the architecture.It also had an ancient energy to it like Kofi's castle but it was bigger.It had more security personnel than Kofi's mansion.She was yet to grasp that she was the Princess of the werewolves,hence why she didn't expect to find a group of people at the entrance of the palace who had been waiting for them.They greeted and the high priestess addressed them without disclosing that I was the princess.

The priestess believed they needed some rest and all discussions,formal introductions will be shown tomorrow.She assigned a lady to Selam.She showed Selam her room.When she wanted to show Kofi his room , Selam begged that they share her room since she did not feel safe in the new environment.Ariana did not argue and left after telling Selam that there was a meeting with the werewolf elders community.

Selam took a bath and wore one of the night gowns she had received from her assigned lady of honor.She climbed into the massive bed while Kofi left for his bath.Selam was now used to sharing the bed with Kofi for he had not attempted to do anything uncharacteristic to her.He was a gentleman.She decided to wait for him so they could talk since they had last talked to each other in the clearing.

Kofi came out in the towel tied to his waist."You haven't been talking to me,"Selam questioned."I got so turned on when you trusted me in the clearing would you have liked it if I had taken you in the clearing,"he said drying his hair.Selam coughed and couldn't reply.Kofi chuckled.He wore pants and entered his side of the bed.

He pulled her to him till she was on top of him.She avoided his eyes.He made her look at him and adjusted her on top of him,"Do you feel that?that is how turned on I am for you everytime you are near.I need to mate you but I won't till you are ready so don't be shy,"he said moving her to beside him.

Selam turned and looked at him,"is it okay if I kiss you?"she asked."I am at your disposal my princess,"Kofi said with a grin.Selam moved back to on top of him and kissed him.Kofi made them sit with his back on the headboard.He kissed her back and had his hands on her waist.Selam moved his hands to her hips,she was been confident and her hands went to his abs while they kissed.She started dry humping Kofi and they both moaned into the kiss.

Kofi's moan excited her and she moved the kiss to his jawline and down to his abs and back up.She was also very turned on and when Kofi sensed it he removed her from him."Selam we can't,the moon goddess has to approve this union and you have to feel the mate bond when we mate.Right now this is your human side's attraction to my human side.Your lycan and my wolf also have to mate,"he said.

Selam was ashamed of what she had done.She had never had an urge to kiss Daniel and she only kissed him because he was her boyfriend.Its when she realized she never actually loved him,she only liked him and what he did for her.She had not missed Sara or Daniel not even once from when she last saw them.
