Selam woke up to the sound of Aida's giggles and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. She stretched, feeling a bit more refreshed, and looked around the room. The sun was shining through the windows, casting a warm glow over everything.
Aida was sitting on the bed, bouncing up and down. "Mama, Mama, get up! We have a big day today!" she exclaimed.Selam smiled, playing along, and got out of bed. She was starting to get used to this "Mama" business, and Aida's enthusiasm was infectious.
They walked to the kitchen, Selam asked Aida about the plans for the day. Aida chatted excitedly about going to the park, playing with the other kids, and having a picnic. In the kitchen, Nene was busy cooking up a storm. She greeted Selam with a warm smile and handed her a cup of coffee.
"Good morning Selam. I hope you're hungry. You have got a big day ahead of you."Kofi greeted ,he was already at the table. He turned to Selam when she didn't respond."Good morning. Sleep well?"Selam asked as she took the seat next to Aida.
She was uncomfortable but feeling a bit self-conscious. What was going on here? Why was everyone treating her like she was part of the family? They ate breakfast as Aida told them all about her plans for the day. Kofi listened, nodding and smiling Selam could not help but feel a pang of...what? Longing? Desire? She didn't know, but she knew she was getting in too deep.
After breakfast, Kofi stood up. "I have some work to do today, but Tatu will take you to the park and make sure you're okay."Aida squealed with excitement, and Selam felt a flutter in her chest. She was actually looking forward to this.
They headed out, Selam noticed that Kofi was staying behind. "Aren't you going to work?" she asked, trying to sound casual.
Kofi shook his head. "I will work from home but I'll join you later, okay?"Selam nodded, feeling a bit relieved that she could meet him but Aida was already tugging on her hand. "Come on, Mama! Let's go!"
The park was amazing. Aida ran around, playing with the other kids, and Selam sat on a bench, watching her. Tatu stood nearby, keeping an eye on things.
Selam could not help but ask Tatu about Kofi. "What's going on with Kofi?" she asked, her voice low. Tatu just stared at her."Why is everyone treating me like I'm part of the family?"she asked with a normal voice.Tatu looked at her, his expression closed off. "Kofi has his reasons," he said, his voice neutral.
Selam sighed, feeling frustrated,"That's not an answer."Tatu just shrugged. "It's the only one you're getting. For now.Selam rolled her eyes, but before she could say anything else, Aida excitedly shouted,"Mama, Mama, look! I am going to swing myself!"
Selam smiled, watching as Aida swung higher and higher.Selam was happy to see her so carefree. The day went on, Selam found herself relaxing. She was actually having a good time. Aida was adorable, and the park was beautiful.
The sun started to set, Kofi appeared, a big smile on his face. "Hey, how was your day?"Aida ran to him, and he scooped her up, swinging her around. "Papa, Papa, we had the best day ever!"Kofi laughed, his eyes meeting Selam's. "I'm glad to hear that."
They walked back to the car Selam felt a sense of unease. What was going on here? Why was Kofi being so...normal?What was she getting herself into? They drove back to the manor, Aida fell asleep in the backseat, exhausted from her big day. Selam looked at Kofi, her eyes narrowed. "Tell me what's going on," she said, her voice low.
Kofi looked at her, his expression serious. "Not here," he said, his voice low. "Not now."Selam was frustrated, but she knew she wouldn't get anything out of him. Not yet. When they got back to the manor and Aida was put to bed.
Selam went to her room to change. She was getting into bed when Kofi knocked on the door."Can I come in?" he asked, his voice low.Selam nodded, and he came in, sitting down on the bed beside her. "I know you're confused," he said, his eyes meeting hers. "I'm sorry for that.I promise, everything will make sense soon."
Selam looked at him, her heart racing. "What does that mean?"she asked. "It means that you're part of something bigger than yourself Selam. Something special and we need you."Selam's heart skipped a beat. "What are you talking about.Who are you referring to as we?"she asked.
Kofi leaned in, his voice barely above a whisper. "You're part of our pack Selam.Your place is at my side and I'm not letting you go."He spoke and the room energy in the room felt tense. She looked at Kofi, her eyes wide, and saw something in his eyes that made her heart skip a beat.He was turning her on and it didn't help that he was near her.
He was serious and she was in trouble since Selam had a thing for dominant men.Kofi gave off Alpha energy.Selam's mind was racing, trying to process everything.Kofi leaned in further with his eyes locked on Selam's, the air between them crackled with tension. Their lips met, and it was like the whole world melted away. The kiss was soft, gentle, but with an undercurrent of passion that left Selam breathless.
Kofi's arms wrapped around her, pulling her closer, and Selam felt like she was home. The kiss deepened, and Kofi's tongue brushed against hers, sending shivers down her spine. The kiss went on, Selam felt Kofi's body tense. His muscles rippled, and his canines...they seemed to be growing. Selam's eyes widened as she felt his teeth graze her lower lip and suddenly, Kofi pulled back, his eyes flashing with a fierce, primal light.
He let out a low growl, his canines now fully extended, and Selam's heart skipped a beat. She was frozen in fear, expecting the worst. Kofi didn't attack her. Instead, he turned and ran, leaving Selam alone with her heart pounding in her chest.
Selam's mind was reeling. She looked at her lip, expecting to see blood, but there was nothing. Had she just imagined it?She sat on the bed, trying to process what had just happened, a thought crept into her mind. Kofi's canines... looked like...fangs as in...vampire? She shook her head, laughing nervously. Don't be ridiculous, she thought. Vampires aren't real.
The doubt lingered, and as she lay in bed that night she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She had to get out of the mansion urgently. She waited until the house was quiet, then slipped out of bed and made her way to the door. She turned the handle, it creaked open just as she was about to slip out, a voice stopped her. "Where do you think you're going?"
Kofi stood in the doorway, his eyes gleaming in the dark. "You're not going anywhere baby girl. You're staying here, with me."
Selam's heart skipped a beat as Kofi stepped closer, his voice low and husky. "From now on, you're staying in my room. With me. I'll make sure you don't get any ideas about leaving,"he said. She could tell from his voice that she had pissed him off.
Selam's eyes widened as Kofi took her hand, leading her to his room. She was trapped, and she had no idea how to escape.Kofi closed the door behind them, Akili felt a shiver run down her spine. She was in this now, and she had no idea what Kofi was capable of.One thing she was certain of was that he was not human.
