Eira and Leif continue their investigation, following leads and gathering evidence in an effort to uncover the truth behind the red moon murders. They had compiled a list of suspects and were in the process of interviewing each of them when they received a summons to meet with the King.
The King was a wise and just ruler, beloved by his people, and Eira knew that whatever he wanted to discuss, it must be important. They made their way to the palace, and were led to the throne room where the King was waiting for them.
"Detective Eira, Leif, thank you for coming. I have summoned you here because I have received word of a prophet who claims to have information about the red moon murders," the King said, his voice grave and serious.
"A prophet, your majesty?" Eira asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Yes, a man by the name of Alder. He claims to have had a vision during the last red moon, and that it holds the key to solving the murders," the King replied.
Eira and Leif exchanged a glance, both knowing that this could be the break they needed in their investigation. They thanked the King and set off to find Alder.
They found him living in a small cottage on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by a garden of herbs and flowers. He was an old man, with a kind face and wise eyes. As they approached, he greeted them with a smile.
"Welcome, detectives. I have been expecting you," Alder said.
"You know why we're here, Alder. The King has told us that you have information about the red moon murders," Eira said, getting straight to the point.
Alder nodded, his expression becoming serious. "Yes, I do. I had a vision during the last red moon, a vision of a powerful sorcerer who plans to use the red moon's power to bring about the end of the world," he said, his voice heavy with conviction.
Eira felt a chill run down her spine. The prophecy they had heard about before, the one that spoke of a sorcerer using the red moon's power to end the world, could this be it?
"How do you know this is true, Alder? Visions can be deceiving," Leif said, his skepticism clear in his voice.
Alder smiled, understanding Leif's doubts. "I understand your skepticism, young mage. But I assure you, my vision was true. I saw the sorcerer's face, and I saw the darkness that surrounds him. He is a powerful and dangerous man, and he must be stopped before it's too late," Alder said with conviction.
"Can you tell us more about this sorcerer? Do you know his name or where he can be found?" Eira asked, her mind racing with the possibilities.
Alder shook his head. "I am afraid not. My vision only showed me a glimpse of him, not enough to identify him. But I do know that he is connected to the Red Moon murders and that he must be found before he can put his plan into motion," Alder said, his voice heavy with worry.
Eira and Leif thanked Alder for his information and made their way back to the palace. They had a lot to think about and a lot of leads to follow. They knew that time was running out, and that they had to act fast if they wanted to stop the sorcerer and save the kingdom from destruction.
As they walked, Eira couldn't help but feel a sense of unease.
