I let my phone ring a couple times as I take a few deep breaths, preparing myself for another alpha freak out.
“Hey, Eli. How’s it going?” I answer, acting like there’s nothing for him to worry about.
“Ree, River told me about your run-in with Desmond and some rogues. He didn’t hurt you, did he? I think you need to come back home. I can’t protect you if you’re not here,” Eli frantically says.
“Eli, I’m fine. Nothing happened besides a few insults. Hunter has banned me from leaving pack grounds again, so I’ll be fine here.”
“Good. Listen to Hunter and do not wander off pack territory.”
