One moment I’m drenched in my own sweat and the next Elaine and Aly are holding me upright in their arms rushing inside. I can’t even focus on what’s going on around me, I just know I need to get inside. I need to cool down or I’ll pass out again.
“Almost there, Ree,” Elaine says next to me, “Stay awake. We’ll get you cooled off, okay?” But I can’t even answer her. I feel my eyelids drooping along with my entire head. I don’t even feel strong enough to hold up my own body.
