The tension in the room slowly loosened, like a knot finally giving way. Olivia crossed her arms and gave Kafziel a small, tired smile. “The good thing is,” she said, trying to sound light, “you’re in one piece. Literally.” Kafziel nodded, the corner of his mouth lifting just a little. His head still throbbed faintly, but the sharp pain had dulled into something manageable. One piece, he thought. Somehow. Jules leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms. “You had us worried there, man.” Kafziel let out a quiet breath. “Yeah… sorry about that.” The door opened softly, and Olivia stepped aside, glancing at the clock. “Alright,” she said, clapping her hands once. “Enough heavy talk for now.” She turned toward the small kitchenette area connected to the room. “Hey, boys—hungry yet?”
