The warm water had splashed on Selene's hand, making her wince in pain. Lewie stood at a place unbothered; he took no step forward, nor did he look back or care to know what happened to Selene. He continued walking to his room. "Did you not hear me cry out in pain? Do you want to pretend like you heard nothing? Do you now dislike me so much that you don't even care about me again?" Selene asked in pain, her eyes burning red in anger. Lewie gave no response; he kept mute and went his way. "I kept blaming myself for everything, even when I knew I did nothing wrong. You locked me out of your study room without letting me explain; I tried apologizing in every way I could. I woke up very early in the morning so I could prepare your favorite dish, but what did I get in return? You snubbed me! Even when I slipped while carrying the dish I made for you, you never cared to help me out. You didn't even look in my direction, you didn't care to know if I was okay or not. I almost injured myself thanks to Leon, who was here in time to save me. Today again, I stood here under this weather, waiting for you just to make sure you drink something warm. What did I get in return? NOTHING!!. You snubbed me and pretended like I didn't exist even when you knew I was in pain both in my hands and in my heart." Tears flowed freely down her cheek, and Selene voiced out all the emotions she had hidden. Her voice wasn't too loud, but it was enough to express her feelings. The patience and self-guilt she once had have turned to anger with the way Lewie kept treating her. "Since you want to act like I don't exist, FINE!! Then I have no reason to act like we are dating, and I owe you no apologies again," Selene was determined to break up with Lewie within herself and act like he didn't exist. The next day, Lewie woke up like a starved lion, ready to devour any food he sees. He grabbed a bottle of water and walked to the kitchen; from the hallway, he could perceive the nice aroma of food flowing out from the kitchen. "Good morning, young master Lewie," Selene greeted casually, her eyes focused on the dish, her tone too distant. Lewie noticed the way Selene greeted him; his eyes widened in shock, his ear and cheek red from anger, and his mouth twisted to the other side. Still pretending to be angry, he pulled out a chair and sat down; his hands scrolling through his phone nonstop, but at intervals, he stopped scrolling and stared at Selene's direction. Lewie's stomach growled every minute, but Selene didn't care; she took her time to make the food, and when it was ready, she passed beside Lewie and carried the food to the dining room while Lewie followed behind quietly. "Uncle Nuel!!, Leon!,. Can you come down? Let's have breakfast," she informed them as she knocked on their doors. Though the Guilford family is among the ten wealthiest families in the city, she and her uncle were given Access to the dining; they were allowed to eat at the dining with the Guilford family without any status discrimination. Lewie, who has been busy all this time with his phone, noticed them coming down, unbothered; he sat tight, expecting his food to be dished out. Selene didn't let Lewie's presence affect her; she just dished out the food into three plates, placed one at the front of her uncle, the other at Leon's front, and the last one she carried for herself. The sound of cutlery clashing with each other made Lewie lift his head. Everyone was busy eating their food, but there was nothing on his plate. Surprised, he turned his gaze to Selene. Selene could feel his gaze on her; she acted like no one was looking at her, and she kept digging into her food, chewing it like it was her last meal. "This is very delicious; I think I have improved a lot on my cutlery skills," she asked no one in particular, her eyes still focused on her food. His nose had inhaled so much aroma that his stomach growled nonstop; it was so loud that he couldn't hide it nor deny it. "And where is my food?" He asked no one but his eyes fixed on Selene. There was no answer; only the plate, fork, and cup sound answered him. "Selene, where is my food? And When did you start making food for only three people, knowing we are more than three here!" "Sorry young master Lewie, Are you done fasting?" She asked, with a devilish smirk on her face. "And when did I inform you I was fasting" he asked calmly. Uncle Nuel and Leon drop the cutlery quietly as they watch Selene put up an act. "Sorry, young master Lewie, I thought you were observing a fast, " Selene answered without lifting her head. "You thought??" He asked with a confused look. "Young master Lewie, you had rejected food twice, so I concluded you are on a fast, and I don't want to be the reason you should break it." Selene stood up slowly. "And besides, there was no assurance that you would be interested in eating the food I made, so I had to save myself the stress of including you." She walked past Lewie, making sure her shoulder brushed together with his shoulder; she walked away, her head high, without turning back. Lewie turned to look at Leon and Uncle Nuel; they noticed his head turning towards their direction; they bowed their heads, focused on their food, and acted like they didn't witness the mini altercation between him and Selene. Leon had an evil smirk on his face, which he didn't try to hide from Lewie.
