CHAPTER 4

275 Words
The days that followed were a whirlwind of emotions for Sari and Johanne. They started spending more time together, studying in the park, sharing secrets, and laughing over silly jokes. But beneath the happiness, a sense of uncertainty lingered—what if things changed or didn’t turn out the way they hoped? One afternoon, they met again at their favorite spot, a quiet corner by the river. The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over everything. Johanne: "Sari, I’ve been thinking… about us." Sari: (nervous but curious) "What about us?" Johanne: "I want to be honest. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time." Sari: (smiling softly) "Me too. But I believe that if we’re honest with each other, we can handle whatever comes." Johanne reached out and gently took Sari’s hand. Johanne: "I just hope we can stay true to what we feel, even if the world around us isn’t always supportive." Sari: "We will. Because what we have is real." Suddenly, Johanne leaned in slightly, her eyes searching Sari’s face. Johanne: "Can I kiss you?" Sari’s heart thumped loudly. She nodded, her voice trembling. Sari: "Yes." Their lips met softly, a gentle kiss that spoke of hope and new beginnings. When they pulled apart, both women felt a renewed sense of courage. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Johanne whispered, Johanne: "Whatever happens, I want you to know… I’m here." Sari: (smiling through her tears) "And I’ll be right here with you." They sat in silence, watching the sky turn from gold to deep violet, both knowing that their journey was just beginning.
